To be fair, I doubt the engaged gay couple would want to be married in a church that disapproves of gay marriages by a vicar who agrees with his church's views.
I think some would. I think sometimes, even in Some wars and conflicts fought in the name o religion, belief is an excuse for righteous indignation not the cause of it.0 -

That's an excellent poiint, much overlooked by many.:D
If I were tempted to join a religion frm scratch, I'd look up Quakerism. No violence or rituals, good charitable stance, tolerance of diversity high, dogma levels low. Plus, tendency to own chocolate factories. Downside- you'd have to give the old Milk of Amnesia the body-swerve.:A
sss555s. Is there no costco in Newcastle? In fact is that maybe a closer rshopping city than Glasgow/Edinburgh?There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I am clearing a particularly shady, claggy corner of the garden. It gets covered in leaves and I'm particularly lazy about clearing them. So, I now need to get some grass seed down there and have some stuff in the border. The question is what? we have some dog roses, a bit of bramble and 2 labernum and something else. So I need shady (and cheap!, there is 1.5m x 4.5m to cover here) groundcover
any suggestions?0 -

missk, I used to have a very shady front garden that as it was surrounded on all sides by walls or fences of at least 6 ft tall only got the sun for the brief period that it was in the shade. I only ever found three things that grew there: foxgloves, potentilla and bleeding heart. This is quite strange because the yellow potentilla that I had and the bleeding heart are supposed to prefer sun but they did well there, in fact the potentilla tried to take over. Everything else got bogged down in the claggy wet soil (which never dried). Because foxgloves are a two-year plant, I found it better to have a two year planting window so that I always had show. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

The recent court case down my way has now thundered on and become an issue of the gay rights law effectively being able to "trump" the religious rights law.... and that giving people rights was never meant to put any one group in a position where they could trump the other.0 -
