Maybe the OU's changed then - I studied with them in 94-97 and got just two short tutorials in a year.

I don't have a telly. When I do get one it'll be a cheapo flat panel, small. So, brand new, that should be under £100.

I don't think economising on a TV is ever worth it. If you look in the recycling places they are full of relatively new TVs with unrecognisable names like Teksonik and Plazmoron. By all means get a wee one, but make it a brand that gives a good guarantee, or go second owner.

My Sony Trinitron cube is still going strong. That was secondhand for a fiver a couple of years ago. :D

That is why I favoured a watch.

If he has Dr Dre headphones he might like a gangsta watch.

that is pretty much the worst thing i have ever seen.

actually suppose it's better than a big flashy diamond earring on a man.

    just.

I wouldn't want one either, but then I'm not an 18 year old male. I have seen one in the flesh though and it is horrific in a quite fascinating way as it does look like bullets in the strap. It could go really, really well with the headphones.

I thought I might like the Unobtainium Edition, but then I remembered the poor Na'vi, it's not worth the sacrifice.

i suppose you might want one when you are 18, for about 2 minutes, but imagine going for graduate job interviews with that on your arm when you're 21.

i want a uboat watch for my next birthday. i bet if i had been wearing one of those yesterday they would have phoned me by now to offer me the job - not heard a peep out of them today, which i think is probably bad news.

We have a friend whose bloke recently bought his second rolex (while forbidding her a much cheaper indulgence).Dh says is great because there is now twice the chance to spot he's a prat before investing in time conversing with him.

there's nothing wrong with people wearing rolexes per se, the trouble is that most people who have one seem intent on showing their watch to you and explaining how it's an investment and is going to appreciate in value.

    seriously, bore-off.

My mother did the opposite, which is funny. She's terrified of losing her Rolex so bought a looky-likey to wear. The real one is somewhere safe.

Going to be panicking in a few hours as I haven't yet done the questions for the interviews tomorrow.

    ah well.
