I do seriously lack confidence... majorly. And it's got a lot worse in the last 5 years.

the only expensive thing we've got is the tv, but that clearly isn't worth anything like what i paid for it 5 years ago and isn't particularly nickable either as although it's a flatscreen, i can barely lift it on my own and certainly couldn't get it down a couple of flights of stairs in short order.
would be a complete waste of a burglar's time, unless they found the car keys, which are well hidden, and if we're away on holiday i take them with me.0 -

Maybe you could try to get something he'll still have when you pop your clogs, so they're reminded of you.
That is why I favoured a watch.
I've got a necklace that my parents bought me, that I never wear. I suspect I will inherit more jewellery when their time comes
My grandmother left me her sewing machine. It was a good quality Singer, birth date (yup you can seriously find this out from the serial number plate) around 1946. Now it is big and heavy and in need of a service. It hasn't been used since 1999 and clutters up the spare bedroom. You can buy something that does twice as much for about £50-70 today; she saved up 2 years "Pin" money to buy it. TBH I need to get rid of it.
Aside from that I have memories and photos of all my grandparents.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I don't have a telly. When I do get one it'll be a cheapo flat panel, small. So, brand new, that should be under £100.0

Nickable items: TVs 3 smallish flatscreens + 1 too big to carry. 3 laptops, 1 desktop, 3 digital cameras, jewellery, bit of cash. 3 ipods, 4 smart phones, passports, PS3, Wii, PSP, DVD player, camcorder. car keys x3.
Not because we are rich or because we have an expensive lifestyle but because we prefer to spend our money on items than on fancy trips, eating out etc plus we have children of the age that have all this clobber. Give it 5-10 years and half the stuff will have moved out with them and the rest will be 5-10 years old.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
