I'm pretty sure the interview process at the place I currently work is designed to give the job to the worst candidate.

As far as I understand there are no other applicants for this job though. So it's a choice between me and a vacancy. I'd chose the vacancy personally!

Aha, so we are right to have every faith it you....if its you or nothing else then.

I like a blue suit on a guy, and blue shirts and ties, but not all together.....Usually...although think its a good safe interview colour. I also like plain mid grey suits. Dh's interview attire tends to lean to blue too, but he wears, usually a quiet blue and yellow tie, to inject a little brightness. He has huge quantities of pink ties. But doesn't wear them to interview.

He loves a bright tie. We still have not found a shirt/ suit that he can wear succesfully with an orange tie:eek: he has four orange or orange and something else ties.

Actually finished about 15.50. Not too bad. Was difficult to know what to think, either it was a quick check to make sure I wasn't a dribbling moron, before they put me in front of someone more senior, or they decided I was a dribbling moron and decided not to bother with a long interview. I think I came across ok, but I did talk a bit of vague gibberish a couple of times.

Not sure my classic blue suit, blue shirt, blue tie combo impressed anyone.

Well, if you want to be on the other side, I'm in an interview panel wednesday morning. just need to make sure they have a pulse and don't talk too much gibberish. think you can manage that?

i have a lot of experience interviewing other people - but it's usually as part of an investigation into their (often criminal) misconduct. i've been quite successful in making people cry in these settings - is that any use?

most of my shirts are pink or white. either would have been better, but only the blue one was ironed.

i don't wear a tie at work most of the time, and if i do i usually only put it on for a specific meeting or interview, so i have a pile of ties on my desk, but very few at home. it was either that or a red tie - and as percy says, don't wear a red tie to an interview. especially a financial services one - they might think you're a socialist.

mishmogs - probably find out tomorrow if i have got a second interview.

I think it's frowned upon to make students cry :(

In addition to my post earlier, phoned Specsavers to ask them to take me from their list and had them try to sell me just about everything

Love chewy going for an interview as James Brown. A wig would be great too.

I have a friend who convinced his lodger that he wore a fake moustache to important meetings because he looked too young to be taken seriously otherwise. He got him to drop him off at the office on a number of occassions wearing said moustache and would get his business partner to call and leave telephone messages at home with the lodger when he knew he was in saying "important meeting tomorrow, please wear you moustache" and the lodger would leave post-its for him! :rotfl:
