She's apologising for everything... because it's all her fault.

I have caught myself thinking like a tenant.

I do not like the loo roll holder in my en-suite. Aesthetically it is unobjectionable, but it is fiddly to get the loo rolls in and out of, which annoys me, so usually I end up not bothering, and just leave the roll on top of the holder, or else on top of the cistern.

Yesterday it occurred to me that although it matches the rest of the bathroom, that is an insufficient reason for me to keep it if I don't like it. (The bathroom itself is not really to my taste in the sense that I wouldn't have chosen it if I'd been starting from scratch, but it's unexceptionable, and replacing it would definitely not be worth what it would cost in either time or hassle.)

Today I went shopping and bought a new one. It doesn't specifically match the suite, but it's similar enough to the taps & shower that it won't look out of place. It cost the exorbitant sum of £7.49 (on offer at half the usual price of £14.99). I have been living here very nearly a whole year, and it has been annoying me for nearly as long. Why did it take me this long to think of changing it?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

There is some interesting behavioural economics stuff, ask someone what they will pay for a promotional mug and the answer is pretty much zero - give them a mug and ask how much they would sell it for and normally it is a lot more. I wonder if we are the same with things in our houses, just cos we wouldn't buy them doesn't mean we wouldn't keep them cos they are already there even if we don't actually like them.

I can't understand why people think macs are somehow less corporate than PCs - in fact PCs are much closer to open standard whereas Apple are determined to tie everyone in to their proprietary systems where they take money from you at every term and one look at their profit margins shows that they are not exactly anti-capitalist.
    I think....

Morning all. Thanks to everyone who replied to my request for mnemonics.

I've really hurt my back, I'm in agony and I have big parts of my body that I can't now feel at all, have gone totally numb, so am going to take a few days off until I get sorted as sitting over a laptop not good:(. Just wanted to let you know why I asked you to help me then didn't get back...
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
