  • So you've now accepted that you do not need a car, and need to start learning to budget?

Yes, I've also learned not to ask again.

Hi, i am a single mum and am on benefits. I need a car as mine is always breaking. I want a newish car as they are less likely to break and it would save me money in the long run. I was just wondering if there was any company that would give me a loan. I don't have bad credit history either.

i also want a newish car for said reason, im sure most people would, unfortunately we are a 3 child, 2 parent family and just have to buy what we can afford

i tell you something you have a nerve saying you are 'just asking for help' do you not not think the honest hardworking people in this country help you enough?

and as for you wouldnt be able to get to hospital quickly - do you genuienly believe that we should all have cars just in case?

the chances of you getting a loan are very very slim, thank goodness

Why not try saving £200/month out of your benefits for three months?

If you can do that, it will tell you whether you can afford to repay a loan. Not being good at saving is not an excuse because if you do manage to source a loan, then you will need to do without this amount of money anyway.

At 19, isnt the insurance crippling you anyway?

Nothing wrong with asking a question but its teh question you asked which was "i need a car but im on benefits", get the childs father to pay maintenance or whatever its called, learn to budget properly(use excel) as it will come in useful.

Because i don't live close to any towns or doctors so if my baby is ill then i can't get her to a hospital very quickly.

Ambulances are used for exactly this purpose.

Thanks for the advice, you also have a nerve judging me when you don't know me. I was asking a question and i said thankyou to the people that gave me a good honest answer without being sarcastic. I've taken to the fact that my chances of getting a loan are not good and so that's fine. I only wanted a loan because it would be easier for me, i also only wanted a newish car because again it would be easier. But like I said I've taken to the fact that i won't be able to do that. So i haven't gone on about it and i haven't moaned, I've just been answering people's questions. Someone asked me why I 'needed' a car and I told them but I didn't moan and I didn't get on the floor and scream and bang my fists because I can't get a loan and I have to save. So for your information you don't know me so don't treat me like one of your children and I don't need your sarcasm. I'm sorry that you don't like my answers to people's question's but that's all they are, are answers to people's question's.

Who would ultimately be making the loan repayments?

I get benefits as technically I am still on maternity leave and I would be if I didn't get made redundant. So yes, people who pay tax would be paying for the car but I'm sorry I can't do nothing about that.
