I do not think that state benefits are intended to enable recipients to run a car.

This is the UK, benefits will stretch a great deal further than you think, it is the working that are unable to afford to buy or run cars...

Why does it have to be new (ish?)

OK condition motor for 2 to 3 K (Neither new nor a banger)
    Would this be OK?

If you can afford loan repayments, why have you no savings?
  • So have you called your bank today, or looked at the other options presented to you?

I've just looked at getting a loan with my bank but i'm not old enough.

Because I'm not very good at saving and I've just had a baby so I've had things to buy.
  • And how old are you?

    I am nineteen.

Why do you "need" a car?
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
