Conquering Debts Once and For All...

  • I've had quite a busy day today in one way or another. I was very good this morning and made myself a list of jobs that I needed to do today and only have a couple of them left. Most of them were related to the business e.g. paying GST (VAT), updating accounts, getting invoicing up to date, writing letters to some potential new businesses (fingers crossed on that front).

I made some lovely home made wholemeal bread, in the breadmaker. Delish. Dinner was pasta and sauce made with our home grown tomatoes. Still have more to use but have bottled some more sauce for using in the next couple of weeks. The rest of the tomatoes will have to be frozen, to go with the gazillion I have frozen already! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Had another NSD today, although did pay $20 for a wireless network adapter for DD1 but he is repaying this so still a NSD. :T

A bit apprehensive about Mr F's WOF (MOT) tomorrow. We're expecting that he'll at least need two new tyres which will cost about $500  (still not as bad as I originally thought, I thought he needed all 4 tyres)! Phew. Will let you know how he gets on tomorrow.

Time to go now, Frozen Planet is on.

  • Hope you manage to plough through your list !

I told the Pinot Household last night that we were going to cart growing our own veg ! Their faces filled with horror as it is well documented that I can't even keep a cactus alive let alone a load of lettuces, but we can try !!

Hope the car doesn't prove to costly for you and good luck with the potential new business !:D

Haha, good luck with the growing your own veg. Actually as you've probably gathered, we grow some of our own and I love it. We're not always successful, more trial and error. Things we have grown include tomatoes (and lots of them) :rotfl:, courgettes, chillis, beetroot, potatoes (you can't go too wrong with potatoes), spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage and radish oh and capsicum. We're just in the process of preparing our boxes for the next round of growing.

  • Have had a bit of a lazy day today.. feel a little guilty but hey I work hard so why not? That said, I've still managed to make a huge bath of pumpkin soup (some in the fridge for lunches and some in the freezer), chocolate chip cookies and ginger biscuits (half of batch in freezer). I've also got some chocolate bread cooking the breadmaker... wonder what that'll taste like... should be interesting! Oh and I finally have some rice pudding in the slow cooker. I'll let you know what it tastes like later.

Still waiting for Mr F to come home, so don't know what the damage is in terms of his car. Not sure I want to know!

Thanks elantan and welcome. You should see me when I'm not having a lazy day. :p

I get the feeling that seeing you on a non lazy day is just about impossible ... Maybe see a blur going by at faster than the speed of sound ... With a bang noise following behind :D

Glad u got the car fixed :)
  • Hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go... well in about 10 minutes :rotfl: So quickly updating diary before I head out the door. Hoping to be home again by about 3-3.30 this afternoon.

Autumn has well and try arrived after a very lackluster summer. We have a severe weather warning for tomorrow, a tempest would you believe. It's quite calm now but judging by the winds we had yesterday it's going to be a blustery Saturday! We're being warned to tie down any loose objects.

Hoping for a NSD today, other than the grocery shopping tonight. Want to get it out of the way today so I don't have to venture out into the bad weather tomorrow. It'll be a good chance to catch up with emails and diaries (assuming we don't lose power).

  • Well the predicted weather bomb has arrived, bringing with it winds of up to 150 km and heavy rain! The poor house is taking a battering. Thankfully it's only predicted to last 24 hours and then we return to some calmer weather.

So, I'm going to take the opportunity to be very MSE today, stay indoors and do some batch cooking. I have a really busy week next week so this will help me to stay on track.

I'm a little mad at myself as I went over my grocery budget last  I'm not really sure why I went over as I made a shopping list and stuck to it. I think I was having a blonde moment and thought I had more money to spend than I actually did! My only consolation is that it's the beginning of the month and I have the rest of March to bring myself back in line with the budget.

Hi Fluffies, just checking in to make sure you haven't blown away. 150 km per hr, wow!! Definitely a day for staying indoors and batch-cooking some of that food that you overspent on! As you say, plenty of month left for you to recover the over-spend, and as long as it all gets eaten there's no harm done. I'm down to £11.87 of my grocery budget to last until 14th March, so that's a bit of a challenge - but I like a challenge nowadays :D!
