I've been very remiss over the past few days. It's difficult at the moment finding a good time to get on the computer for various reasons. Still I'm here now.
I paid a whopping $700 off our Visa card last week :A what a great feeling. We have some more items listed on trademe at the moment so hopefully by the end of the month we will have paid the visa card off, although Mr F's WOF (MOT) is due on his car at the end of the month and we think it might need 4 new tyres!
Baked up a bit of a storm yesterday with blueberry muffins (blueberries fresh from the farmers market), ginger biscuits and meringues. Today's job is to start skinning the glut of tomatoes from the garden ready to freeze.
For dinner I think I'll whip up some falafel from a recipe I grabbed of the internet. I've never made them before but have bought them at school fares and they are delish. Not sure if the boys will eat them though.
Work has been a bit strange this month, all my job's keep getting postponed. I think it's a result of the 2 4-day weeks we've just had, it seems to set everyone back more than it should.
Oh well, more time to get things done at home. I made Mr F a valentine's card this morning! Rather pleased with it, even if I do say so myself. :rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Morning,
Home made Falafel sounds lovely. My girls absolutely love it, Mr Pinot wraps it in Tortilla Wraps with houmous, lettuce and sweet chilli sauce then ops it on the panning press and it goes down a treat. Hope it turns out well and the boys enjoys it .
Sorry to hear about work, maybe it is the bank holidays that have caused it to be a bit erratic. Ours just carries not he same, anyone would think we have no bank hols and Xmas just doesn't exist in our world. I envy people to tell em they have earn double time on a Sunday etc as our pay is the same whatever the day of the week.Hopefully things will pick up for you soon.
Hope Mr Fluffy likes his homemade card, I made one for Mr P a few years ago, but it wasn't that creative really . This year he has a free one as recommended on MSE dropping onto the mat ! Its a bit rude though so I will have to hide it from the girls !!:rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

The falafel were great. Not bad for my first attempt, although the yoghurt sauce I made with them (as per the recipe) wasn't quite as nice as I hoped and their was heaps of it.
Fortunately I don't have to work weekends but totally know where you're coming from.
Mr Fluffy loved his card and the little heart I crocheted him. He bought me a small box of heart chocolates. I think he thought about not getting anything but then thought again. :rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

It's been a quiet day today. A couple of people who won our auctions came to collect their goods, so a little extra cash to go towards Mr Fluffies' WOF on his car later this month. I have a 'pot' for this but as I only started it a short while ago there's not enough in there yet, so every extra cent I can put in helps.
As I finally have a job tomorrow I decided to take advantage of my quiet day and made two meals, a chicken curry for tonight and a chilli for tomorrow. Had enough curry leftover to put some in the freezer for another day.The freezer is looking very healthy at the moment.

It's been a good day. I had a job from a new client today which went very well and I have another job booked in for March. :j I had another NSD, my 10th this month :j:j and I spoke to my dad on Skype who was looking very fit and healthy. :j:j:j He's been suffering with very high blood pressure so there have been a few scary moments over the past few weeks.
This combined with a post on another blog I follow got me to thinking about what in life makes us happy. It's not always the big things we do that make our life a little better or happier, it's the little things that remind us of what we have. I love that DS1 will make me a cup of tea when I'm tired or that DS2 will come and give me a hug or sit on the arm of my chair to have a chat. I love that even after 16 years of marriage, Mr F will still surprise me with the occasional bunch of flowers for no other reason than he saw them and thought I would like them. These are the things I try to remember when I'm having a 'down' day or when things don't seem to be going the way I want them to.
On that note, it's been a long day and I think I can hear my bed calling my name... :rotfl::rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi BoF, I've just read through your diary and subscribed. Congratulations on getting your CC1 down so much. Actually I had no idea what a NZ dollar was worth in £s, so I've just had to go on a conversion site. One NZ dollar is about 53p I believe, so that one is nearly cleared. Yay!
Love the photos you put up, you're in a great spot and it looks so SUNNY. Well done for following your dream, most of us just aren't brave enoughx

Oh how I agree with you ! Yep its ll those little things that make you realise how very lucky you are. In my case the new number plate for Valentines, not romantic but he knew how much it would make me smile !!
I'm so glad your dad is looking well .I hope his blood pressure is under control now. Its so lovely that you are able to see and speak to him so easily even though he is so far away. What would we have down without Skype ? We use it all the time when Mr Pinot is away for long periods , and its a godsend !
So glad to hear you have more work coming your way as well ! Things seem to be picking up all round !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Woken up this morning to a lovely, quiet, peaceful house. Everyone is still in bed. I love this time in the morning when I can sit with a cup of coffee and catch up with everyone's diaries. At the moment it's also the coolest time of day. It's been so unbearably muggy here for the last couple of days (90% humidity).
So, Mr F and I did the grocery shopping last night, we're finding Friday evenings work well for us, and I managed to come home with $50 in my pocket. I may need to spend $5.00 of this during the week on extra milk, but that's still a saving of $45!! I'm getting really good about taking a shopping list and even Mr F is using the mantra "if it's not on the list, it's not going in". :rotfl: Still it seems to be working so I'm not knocking it.
Work is particularly frustrating at the moment. Due to the nature of what I do, I have to be a little flexible as jobs can move from the day they are booked in. Normally this isn't a problem, but at the moment 90% of my jobs are getting moved. Just as I think I've got my week sorted, the job gets moved. Hopefully, next week is finally sorted and I will have 4 jobs.
Today's list of jobs include sorting the garage out now we have sold the tent etc. and Mr F is going to be moving compost and filling up the new vege box. I'm sure he's looking forward to that. :rotfl: :rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All
