Oh I knwo that feeling well. The loss of invoices, even when theyare emailed over seems to be a favourite trick ! Glad its sorted now though.
I love lists too, couldnt function without them. I think its that sense of achievement, however small, even if its cleaning the loo thats the key !
March and work in general is sounding like its pickingup for you. Hope you get something positive back from the quote.
Must dash now, my day is running away with me xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I think us ladies will get along just fine - Im lists for lists type of lady (a remainder of working in an office for too many years) I have a pad and its ongoing with lists then once a week I make a new BUT (she whispers lists have gone by the wayside and thats when trouble starts as all it does is go round the head and get forgotton about or worried about)
Oh your Dad still going strong at 90 - bless him using Skype good for him - hubby has nan of nearly 91 and she wrote a book a few years ago she is just a treasure.
I do feel for you with reference to DS it is a worry - fingers crossed he gets on ok
Hope you have a good stressfree weekend oh and well done on the coffee maker selling xDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Same here, making lists is a throwback to having worked in an office for far too long (over 20 years). I love that with the business I am out and about and travel to different places for almost every job!
Dad does amazingly well, he's my hero.Your nan-in-law sounds pretty special too. What did she write a book about? Would I have heard of it?
Hoping to have a quiet weekend and maybe get out in the garden.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Woke up to a lovely sunny Saturday! I love that feeling/smell first thing in the morning when you open the door and the air is fresh and there's a light breeze. It can often be stifling later in the day, sometimes with up to 90% humidity!
I'm hoping to spend a little time in the garden this weekend. With the warm, wet weather we've been having the weeds are having a field day. :rotfl: Mr Pink is aiming to trim back a few shrubs and the boys will be on lawn mowing duty. They should have done it during the week but I was a bit slack. Still it is the school holidays.
In an effort to try and use us our courgettes, I'm going to try baking the chocolate courgette cake I found on one of the other threads (the grocery challenge, I think). I have it on good authority that it's delicious.
Oh, and once Mr Pink can drag himself out of bed will strip the bedding off the bed and get it all washed. I love the smell of clean bedding.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

DS2 was skeptical about this cake but it's absolutely delicious. I got the recipe from one of the grocery threads on here so thought I'd upload a couple of photos. It makes 16-20 good size squares. You really don't need them any bigger as it's quite a rich cake.

The cake looks and sounds lovely - I dont think my lot would like the sound of it - but I bet they would never know the courgettes existed if I did not tell them:D
Nan in Laws book was "Beachwood and Bluebells" - its the story of her life - she only managed to get a handful of copies printed and most of them went to University and library where she grew up - the name escapes me - but it was very very good - we loved it! and Im mentioned in it so im famous:rotfl:

Well hello sunshine,
It's a beautiful, blue sky, sunny day here. I think summer is finally poking it's head out, through the rain clouds. The washing machine is already on; hope to see the bottom of the laundry basket for the the first time in a while. It's been quite warm but it's been so wet and humid that the washing hasn't been drying and I refuse to use my tumble dryer in the middle of what is supposed to be our summer!
So, what's on the agenda today? Well, I got this month's power bill on Saturday which seems excessively high :mad:for this time of year, so will be ring the power company to find out why.
We managed to sell another 2 or 3 items on trademe last night, but not sure whether to put in our emergency fund or pay off credit card. My initial thought was to pay off credit card but we have absolutely nothing saved for emergencies so I'm torn. Maybe I should split it 50/50?
I joined our local freecyle site last week and my mobile phone was gong crazy over the weekend with updates. I don't think I've ever had so many text messages. I'll have to see how they go over the next few days as I'm not sure I can keep up with the pace and my mobile is really for work! Might have to 'unsubscribe' to updates via text and just remember to check the website every day.
I haven't had much in the way of surveys this month. Fingers crossed they start coming through in the next week or so, as things return to normal. New Zealand pretty much shuts down for most of January.
Got to do some tidying up this morning but then I think I'll go and have rummage in the local charity shop.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Grrr it's been one of those days! Mr P came home from work, feeling unwell, so I didn't manage to get much cleaning done. A quick run round with the hoover.
Don't know what the boys were on today, but between DS1 and DS2 they managed to spill blackcurrant juice on my cream dining room carpet and then put too much soap in the dishwasher and the suds were leaking out of the front!!!
I did manage to make 3 jars of courgette pickle tonight, which tastes divine. With the amount of courgettes still growing might have to make some more or at the very least find some more recipe.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Youve been busy over the last few days havent you ?! Sorry Ive not dropped by, somehow you disappeared off of my subscriptions list !
I hope you managed to get the blackcurrant juice out of the cream carpet, I would ban them from that room in future ! Hows the dishwasher now, I'm so jealous that you ahve one, leaky or nnot ! We still havent had a chance to fix ours, and I am so fed up with the washing up. Strange how everyone seems to disappear from the kitchen at washing up time in my house !
Not sure what to suggest re the credit card versus Emergency Fund dilemma. I suppose if the money would clear the card completely, its worth paying it off, if not then I think I would pop it into my emergency fund for a rainy day. I'm sure whatever you decide will be best for you.
I think I forgot to comment about your dad using Skype at 90 ! Thats amazing. My mum and dad are 78 and she loves all things technical (drives my dad mad at times with it all !), she has skype as well and everyone clubbed together at Xmas and bought her an ipod touch, so she has been busy downloading all sorts of Apps. Now she is after an Ipad ! It must be great for you, at least you can still see him and him you and the children .
Hope all is going well with work for you xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Would you believe it, DS1 and DS2 had only been washing up liquid in the dishwasher. I had run out of powder and told them to use the liquid instead. DS2 asked DS1 which bottle and was told to use the green one. Both bottles were green! At least we've got to the bottom of the soap suds (it has happened twice over the last couple of days).
DS1 has taken it upon himself to look for a Saturday job. He has managed to pick an Expression of Interest form from one of the local supermarkets, so not bad for his first day on the 'job' (groan).
I've started a new crocheting project in the last couple of days. I have so many plastic carrier bags in the cupboard (a downside to when I do the food shop online), that I'm making myself a shopping bag out of them. Not looking too bad, even if I do say so myself.
I'm still waiting for a couple of the things I sold on trademe on Sunday to be collected, hopefully at least one will be gone tomorrow.
I was quite proud of myself today, had an appointment with DS2, and wanted to treat him for being good and was going to stop at the bakery on the way home, but then remembered the figures from MSE demotivator and drove past the bakery and made us lunch at home. Which by the way was yummy.
Got 2-3 hours work in the morning, so I guess I'd better be heading to bed.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All
