Conquering Debts Once and For All...

Today's list of jobs include sorting the garage out now we have sold the tent etc. and Mr F is going to be moving compost and filling up the new vege box. I'm sure he's looking forward to that.
So much for that idea! After spending the morning baking bread, making pumpkin soup (which by the way was delicious) and putting dinner in the slow cooker, I ended up refereeing an argument between DS1 and DS2 over who would mow which part of our garden. DS1 had a bit of a melt down and I had to try and calm him down. Mr F tried to intervene but I thought that would only make it worse. To be honest, it was over in a matter of minutes and DS1 and DS2 came to a compromise with our help but it highlighted to me how easily DS1 can flare up when he can't make himself understood. I know this is mainly due his aspergers but it was actually quite scary. Thankfully no harm done.
My afternoon was spent not tidying the garage but rather helping Mr F load up the trailer with garden cuttings. I even played tree surgeon for a while after Mr F's arm began to ache from sawing a rather large branch off a tree that was beginning to overhand our roof. It's actually a tree in our neighbour's garden but as he only has one arm and one leg I don't think it would be fair to ask him to do it. You know what they say, no rest for the wicked. :rotfl::rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

I'm glad you managed to sort the spat out between your two sons. It's awful when you see your kids fighting. I hate it. Luckily for us it doesn't happen too often, but when it does the tense feeling tends to linger with me, whilst both kids are off, playing having a lovely time. I think I'm way too sensitive at times :-)
Wow, baking bread ....... Go you :-). That is definitely one task I have to master! Ah well, onwards and upwards as they say Xxx
Have a great day XDebt total before IVA = £43,350.

Well another full on day for me. Mr F and I took the trailer load of cuttings to the organic waste station and came back with a trailer load of compost for the garden. So, the next hour was spent unloading said compost. Who said you needed to go the gym for exercise?
Then we headed off to a support group for aspergers parents that we attend. It was an interesting meeting today as we actually had a couple of teenagers there with AS. Usually it's only parents so it was good to get their take on things.
Then home to make dinner, Mr F made a chicken fried rice with leftover chicken from last night's dinner and then when it had finally cooled down I made cake for the boys lunch boxes. Cheaper than buying the ready made stuff at the supermarket and tastes nicer too.
About to hit the sack now, it's been a busy weekend.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Yeah, mine don't fight often either which I guess is hits hard when they do. They'd both forgotten about it within minutes while it stayed with me for the a good hour or so.
Have to admit that while I occasionally bake bread by hand we do actually have a bread maker to do the work most of the time. :rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Another NSD was had yesterday. I spent the day catching up with diaries in between some baking, cooking, washing etc. Also trying to find out where the cheapest tyres are for Mr F's car that is going in for it's WOF (MOT) next week. Looks like it's going to be about $1000
Off to work in the next 30 minutes and it's going to be a long day, with a 45 min drive at either end. Ah well. At least it will be a NSD.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

What a week it's been. After almost no jobs in January and a slow start to February, I had found myself with 5 jobs in 4 days! Apart from yesterdays jobs they were all between 45 - 60 mins drive away, which all adds to the length of the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining it's better than having no job at all.
I've been absolutely shattered each night, but am pleased to say all my hard work in the last few weeks stocking up the freezer paid off. Apart from last night's dinner where I sent the boys to get some chips from the takeaway, we managed to have 4 NSD's. :j. I was in bed by 10.30 last night but am feeling a little more human today.
We had our first blip at school with DS2 on Wednesday. His anxiety levels have been slowly increasing over his PE lessons, to the point that he was unable to go to the lesson on Wednesday but fortunately all our forward planning with school paid off. He found his nominated place and teacher and they called us.
We're still working on a plan to keep him in PE at the moment but I'm hopeful that we can. Watch this space...
Mr F and I made an executive decision this week, no more buying shop bought bread (unless we absolutely have to). It's just so expensive. A decent loaf of bread, costs at least £3.50. We can make bread in the bread maker for about $2.50 and that's including the electricity. We just have to remember to make it, which is easier said than done when we're busy but I'm up for the challenge.
Anyone got any good recipes for using tomatoes. We've already frozen lots for making sauces/soups but we are being overwhelmed by the amount we have already picked / still on the plants.
Ah well, I guess it's time for me to get my A into G and print off my shopping list and get myself to the supermarket for the grocery shop!:rotfl::rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi Fluffies, congrats on the jobs and on the NSDs.
I've been toying with the idea of a breadmaker next payday (getting my slow cooker has really started my culinary juices flowing!) but I wasn't sure whether it would be financially worth it. It sounds like it is, so I will give it some more thought - I haven't researched machine prices or anything yet. It's amazing how much thought I put into every purchase nowadays!
Hope it goes well with DS2's PE xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Hi Fluffy,
Sorry I haven't caught up in a few days. Sounds like you have been a very busy lady this week !! So glad things are working out on the work front, if exhausting ! As you say can't complain ! As you know we tarted 2012 with barely any work, we are actually now turning it away, which is an awful thing to have to do, but we can't be in 3 places at once. Hope things continue to go well for you.
Sorry to hear about the PE lessons, I hope you manage to keep him in PE and your forward planning pays off. Good Luck
Ok, re the tomatoes, now I am no culinary expert, but I do like my bread maker ! So, how about tomato bread, never tried it making it but have eaten it often enough , but I bet you could find a recipe for it. Or, sun dried tomato bread ? No idea how you make tomatoes into sun dried ones, do you sit them in the sun until the shrivel ?!! Or still on the sun dried tomato front, just shrivel a load and use them in a pasta. Mr Pinot makes a mean linguine with red onions, sun dried toms ( or sun blush, how do you make them blush not shrivel ?) , balsamic and some rocket plonked on top. Its a firm favourite with the kids.
Rushing off now to google blushing toms !!!! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hm, what a predicament though. Still better to turn work down than have none at all.Sorry to hear about the PE lessons, I hope you manage to keep him in PE and your

I love my breadmaker.Have been toying with the idea of making some chocolate bread for the boys - might encourage them to eat something a little more substantial at school. I cringe at the lack of food in their lunch boxes every day but no point in giving them extra as they only come home with it or give it away (and that's not very MSE is it?).
