Good morning everyone, Happy new year to everyone!

I used to post on here a few months back and I have decided to return in the hope that I can meet my target of being DF by end of this year. Since I was last on I have taken on another job (doing ironing for people) and applied for another one (answering telephones).

    My list for today:
    • Heating on low Its on low, I've decided to get the coal fire on when DH gets in from work, as it heats the whole house so I can keep the gas on low.
    • Catch up with the laundry Done
    • Finish off work that needs done Done
    • Do course work which is due Work in Progress - Got some of it done.
    • Schedule the direct debits into the diary that I got for this job. Done
    • Update company accounts Done
    • Do some of the ironing pile Done
    • Daily clicks and surveys Done
    • Look into freelance work and put in bids Done, wasn't much available today.
    • Clean and hoover the house
    • Check, Scan and Put away A order once it comes (I now get it delivered as it works out cheaper than going to store) Done
    • Submit shopping scan data Done
    • Sort diary for next week Done
    • Sort a meal plan for dd next week Done
    • Spend some time with dd Done
    • Help ds to get his homework done for tomorrow Done
    • Sort the LF films for returning (decided to return and close account as I don't have time to watch them) Done
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
    Aiming to get Debt Free.
  • Morning all!
I can't sleep so ended up getting up at the same time as I do for work. Lots going on at work and I struggling to stop thinking about it - GCSE exams have changed (I'm a science teacher) and other schools have had very poor results (we haven't done them yet) and I'm very worried about how our kids will do. Trying to come up with ways to help them through it - not easy with apathetic 15 year olds!

I'm a science teacher too - we got the first new GCSE results in on Thursday and they are really quite poor. Really stressed me out by Friday but what can you do when you've tried everything and they still don't care?

I'm pleased to report I had a mammoth sleep in and am feeling much better than I did.
    Already done
    Washing up
    Load of washing
    checked bank balance
flylady that I missed on Friday
I've got some extra tutoring in today as well so should make a bit of money from that
Just trying to decide if I fancy a load of cooking today but I think I'd rather take the kids out for a walk.

Gave up on the ikea trip after checking banking  my head has been all over the place recently, totally forgot about a bill that was still to come out...

Staying in this afternoon now to count our pennies and re-budget. Probably best!!!

    things to do this weekend:

    check banking x 2
    [STRIKE]*stock take & meal plan/shopping list[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]*do a little work[/STRIKE]
    *make banana bread
    *make soup
*[STRIKE]shopping[/STRIKE] - was going to do an online shop with my £10 off voucher in Sains but when I was going through it all its cheaper to shop around! spent £87!!! but think I have enough stuff for the rest of the month expect bread, fruit & veg, stuff for a dinner party next week and of course a bottle of wine! :p should easily come in on my GC challenge :T
*haircut & colour - have home hairdresser so considerably cheaper! hairdresser didn't arrive so rescheduled for tues
    [STRIKE]* all food from stores[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* film and wine at home rather than going out[/STRIKE]
    * have a NSD

ok that's me I think. Not much but there you go! x

ok as well as this I have/will

    * changed my lunch today - instead of baggette (what I wanted) toasted ham & tom sandwich to use up bread ;)
    * put in £13 of petrol to take out of petty cash tomorrow ;)
    * purchase a "friends" card to reduce cinema/theatre tickets - cost £20 (£10 for me and oh) and then each time we use we will get £2 off each ticket (need to use it 5 times over the year to break even) even better as oh is a student got it for £15 :T
    * taking dd to the cinema tonight to see Girl with the Dragon tattoo - will use above card making tickets £5 each not £7 :T
    * will take crisps, cake & drinks
    * making lovely roast for dinner and will make brownie while the oven is on ;)

other than that I will sit down and read my book. Happy Sunday everyone x

  • Had a bit of a result with the weekly shop today - second time in Aldi, thought I'd try their cat food but my two moggies are very fussy and turn their noses up at asda's own so was taking a chance, however they seem to love Aldi's own - at 99p it's less than half the price of whiskas at about £2.50 a box

Bought their 'coco pops' last week, DS is fussy about cereal but never said a peep all week so result there too!

Small things keep me happy lol:rotfl:

    Afternoon!
    Late one from me again:-
    - Checked banking
    - Remembered to turn heated blanket OFF today! Grr left it on yesterday!
    - Started moving HUGE pile of earth in garden, doing very well!
    - All food from stores
    - Set timer on kitchen heater
    - Sorted and tidied DD's room, unearthed a load of bootfair stuff and threw a blacksack out!
    - Hung washing on line...though not sure it's drying :-/

    Still to do:-
    - Rejig budget for Jan's payday (didnt do this yesterday)
    - Clean out rabbit
    - Hoover throughout
    - Check electricity usage (going to start doing this daily for a while...)
    - Shower tonight not bath but full valet all the same!
    - Sort clean washing
    - Do minimal ironing, work essentials only
    - Make jelly for work lunches, 5p per portion and only 8 calories!
    - Tidy my bedroom and move bootfair stuff to loft, not doing one until it gets at least a *little* bit warmer!!!
    - Not light a fire tonight or heated blanket, perhaps hot water bottle instead!

    This is me :-)
Woah still loads to do, better get a wiggle on!

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

Well as predicted yesterday was NOT a NSD due to going to Autoshow and taking Dad and partner out for dinner. However, heating turned off as we were away, and they looked after dog so no expensive sitter fees there
Also result as got free bottle of champagne at pub we went to due to it being birthday dinner and also Dad found a discount for 5% off the bill which we used so overall was not as much as had planned for - that counts as a save!
Further was given stunningly simple idea by Dad that probably will reduce outgoings on my house and free some cash up - will be phoning Monday to research this idea, it could save our bacon.
Checked banking, credit cards and ensured cash flow OK til pay day, next month is going to be tight, there is a £250 deficit I am going to have to fund in cash flow before additional funds arrive in March.
Finally got the info on DH loan to work out if we can save by switch so have spent time here researching this - will discuss tonight.
Did a budget for the possible change in income if the changes being murmured about at DH work turn out to be true (scare stuff we need to get his debts gone)
Food plan and shopping done for the both of us for week - got a couple bargains to add variety to the plan (cheaper than the options I had selected so save there!) - we have 2 lots of visitors this week so was more than usual but under expected budget.
Walked dog x2 to get rid of headache and burn a few calories from the wine last night.
Free call to BF to confirm details for next weekend and catch up
    sorted recycling for tomorrow
Absolutely shattered as didn't sleep well last night due to dog being in a strange house so was investigating every little noise - because of course it could be a burglar - so doing nothing more tonight just sleeping!

    Here comes Monday .....
    Start info Dec11
    H@lifax [STRIKE]£13813.45[/STRIKE] paid Sep14 paid 23 months early :T
    Mortgage [STRIKE]£206400[/STRIKE] £199750 Mortgage £112500
    B@rclays £[STRIKE]25000[/STRIKE] paid 4 years 5 months early. S@ntander £[STRIKE]9300[/STRIKE] paid 2 years 2 months early
    2013 8lb lost 2014 need to lose 14lb. Lost 4 so far!;)
