Just gonna check if there are any codes about, it's in my 'basket' already! You just made my day :T
I'm trying to write an assignment too - but see how easily distracted I am?! I start looking for things for other people to buy:rotfl::rotfl: Just scrubbed round the patio doors too as they were looking a bit mildewy in the corner, so all clean and bleachy smelling now....back to the essay:o:o
Glad to have helped:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Great Thread, can I join too?
Good Saturday...
Went to Lidll stocked up on supplies I normally shop at Tesco but I need to make more savings.
Went to library to return magazines and DVD's so no late fees-- the library is having a special offer rent a DVD for half price for the month of January. Rented two - one for whole family to watch and one for me and other half. Payed £3 for two DVD rental for week. Also got a magazine for a week out from the library. Used small change in purse to pay for it.
Started to research buying a bread maker. My husband has high blood pressure so we could make bread with less salt in it. Will be better for his health.
Also would like to buy a freezer to make some bulk purchases when stuff on special offer or reduced. However it feels as though I am spending money to save money!! However if I am lucky enough to get one on Freecycle it may be costly to run and not A rated. I have a fridge freezer and my freezer is always jammed packed and I can't buy in bulk.
Also checked bank accounts on line.
Good luck everyone.
I love hearing what other people are doing.0 -
Today I have -
Had breakfast and lunch from stores
Tea is a concoction of leftover chicken, couscous, potatoes and whatever else I can find in the larder
Sort of MSE - went to M&S to pick up my S-I-Ls Xmas present for next year, saw it on Grabbit and saved delivery by picking it up
Top up shop in Aldi for less than a tenner and that included a £2.99 bottle of red for a small treat tonight
Realised that Lidl shampoo and conditioner makes my hair just as soft as the more expensive Tresemme for a fraction of the price
Maxing on SBTV
Staying in tonight with some Christmas nibbles I still have and my Aldi wine
Think that's it. Happy weekend!#5 - Save £12k in 20260 -
Well today was a very different day. I went to work today, even on my day off, as I work for a charity and the Mayor of the town came to see what we are doing. The Mayor agreed to fund us from the money he makes from holding his balls. He also owns a printing company and offered to do all of our publicity printing for free. So more funding for the charity means I keep the job for longer!
On the way home I looked in the window of the newsagents and there was a job advertised on a card in the window for someone to do an elderly persons paperwork. I rang it from my mobile right there and then and she asked me to go for an interview straight away. It was only up the road. When I got there I couldn't believe it. She was one of those OCD hoarders like you see on Grimefighters. Every room was stacked high with boxes of rubbish and one of the walls in one of the rooms had a 10 foot high stack of paperwork up against it. Bank statements and bills dating back 10 years. I had to crawl through a hole through a load of rubbish to get to a tiny seating area in the middle room. I reckon it would take a year to sort out just the paperwork. It's an 8 hour a week job so in a way I hope I get it as that's what I need for wtc. I was in a bit of shock when I came out of there.
Looked round all the charity shops looking for things I think I could sell for more than they are asking for.
Did the comps.
Did the surveys.
Had heating on low.0 -
