Morning all, this needs to be quick cos I am reading the thread whilst I should be working....
Feeling a bit better today, throat still raw and sore, with a tickle to boot but the horrible aches and pains seem to have gone away, great what a couple of early nights can do for you.
Not much OS to report, house is still a tip but hoping to get something sorted this w/e, lots of washing, though minimal ironing cos I hate ironing, some more batch cooking, my meal plan still operating, well operating most days, spending very little in the shops which is great. I am off with my girlfriends to Spain in March, ticket was a birthday pressie, just need to find some spending money so trying to snaffle a few Euro from my housekeeping...
Regarding my friends Dad, I have written card to her, just to show that the family are in my thoughts, and I will go to the funeral when they release the body but I don't really want to get in touch with her personally. Long story, but she desperately tried to break up my own marriage/family and two other friends families with horrible lies which effected my man and both my boys, it broke my heart and took me ages to recover, but no one deserves what happened to her.
Anyways JG, we are waiting with bated breath, hope labour is short and painless and Roo lives up to his name and just bounces out!
Hester, would not like your job, not sure I could keep quiet long enough to deal with idiots.
Tru, love Jack Sparrow and I could offer my cooking/cleaning skills to the crew, what do you think? Would I pass muster?
Monnagram, you are a truly lovely person.
Lou, JackieG, MeanMarie, where are you, hope you are OK, have a hug.
Hugs and high fives to anyone I have missed, will be back later, with a bottle of bubbles to celebrate Roo's appearance and to wet the baby's head, so to speak.
Have a good day all.Cait, at long last signing on:rotfl:0 -
Good morning ladies (and gents )
just got back from my mini-shopping trip as I am doing most of my shopping from the freezer and existing stores as much as possible this month.
Last night I was washing up the omelette pan and the handle came off in my hand .I tried to fix it but the screw had snapped .undeterred i took it to my local family run hardware shop and a lovely man there fixed me on a new slightly longer screw for the princely sum of 50p What a bargain its saved me buying a new one (only the handle was broken the pan itself was fine) and at a fraction of the cost of replacing it.That is my bargain of the week and I came home thinking well if it was a big superstore they wouldn't have bothered whereas a small business has made one little old lady happy and I shall be singing their praises to everyone I meet .I try to use all our local businesses if I can and only earlier this week took one of my DGS shoes into the local cobbler for him to fix the strap on for my DD :cost £3.50, far cheaper than a new pair of school shoes
I have only done my second shop this month this morning and I'm pleased at how little I am parting with when it comes to shopping. My existing stores are getting used up, and the freezer is parting with food I had forgotten about:)
miffy sorry to hear about your problems with your Mum its so sad when you live so far away.
adelight good luck with the exams
julieG Come on honey we are all puffing and panting for you, my 'babies' are now 42 & 44 but its the most thrilling thing in the world to see a new little person arrive, no matter wheather you give birth,or its your grandchildren arriving, or adopt, they catch hold of your heart forever (even when they are going through the 'terrible twos' or the even worse 'grunting teenage bit')
Re Captain Jack Sparrow I would happily look after him in a 'proper grandmotherly way';) of course ( you believe that you believe anything;)) He's gorgeous and got a luverly bumJust 'cos I'm old there's no harm looking;) No deck scrubbing though ,me knees are past it :rotfl:
Have a smashing day everyone, and hopefully we shall have some news soon
I'm off to History Club this afternoon where i shall be learning all about the Romany folk
cheers chums
