Breath still bated, waiting for JG to report in. Or not, as the case may be.

Much chillier here today so have reluctantly turned the heating up to 'bearable', this winter has been brilliant so far.

We are still officially on holiday but the Rev lives next to the church so is just too handy and getatable, also when someone rings her up in distress she is immediately there for them. Anyway, we are going out to lunch today, so a couple of hours of holiday!

I am trying to plan menus but our lives are so unpredictable that it is almost impossible to plan anything. The only way is to have something in the fridge that can be heated up in the microwave and even then meals often end up in the bin because she has to rush off somewhere. In September she has to take on a third church a few miles away so I don't suppose I will see much of her.

HH: You tell them that if any of them can do things quicker or better, they are welcome to try.

Miffy: So sorry about your Mum. I went through the same thing with my 97 year old Dad a few months ago and it was awful. I hope the hospital is handling things better than ours did. My heart goes out to you and your family.

    Back to the bated breath.

Beth: Perhaps I should have admitted that for a couple of years when DS1 was a teenager I would have happily handed him back again.:rotfl:

    Morning everyone,

Much quieter day for me at work today, I might actually get some of the huge pile of marking done. I cleared all of my marking before the Christmas holidays, it is amazing how it all mounts up again.

Hester, can't you refuse to do the copying for those who won't get their cards?

Julie, waiting with baited breath! So excited for you.

Monnagran, your post yesterday really touched me, you are a lovely person.

I went out to book group last night and it was really nice to catch up with some friends that I haven't seen for a while.

This weekend the netball season starts with a vengence, have lots of taking and fetching to tournaments. I don't mind at all, DD2 loves the sport and I get to chat to lots of other parents while they are playing, it is just dragging myself out of bed in the dark again>

Quiet evening tonight. DD2 has a ballet class and OH is going to the pub with some friends. Don't know if DD1 or DS have any plans.
Tea will be HM pizza, better get some mozzarella on the way home.

Hugs to all those in need especially LW, Lou, JackieG, Uolypool and NPM.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Can I please join your band of scurrilous pirates tru. I can confirm I fancy Jack Sparrow :D

A day of rushing about it seems, got to go food shopping, tidy up the [STRIKE]shed[/STRIKE] house, clean the bathroom, no doubt put shopping away when I get back, have a coffee with my mum and maybe go for a walk. The filling for cottage pie is now in the SC so just the spuds to prepare for that for tea.

I may have cottage pie with kids for tea......H will have to fend for himself as he doesn't like mince.....

Miffy - huge hugs for you and your mum. Not been in your position yet but cant imagine how hard it must be. Lots of love and I hope she is comfortable xxxx

adelight - all the best for your exam, positive vibes for you xx

Hester - LOL @ screaming abdabs, I thought it was just my family that used that term :D they all sound as childish as the solicitors I used to work for

Miffy - sorry to hear about your mum, my heart goes out to you and your family.
adelight - good luck for your exam.

I came home early from work, woke up feeling awful and wasn't actually doing anything, I had no camps or anything to run, and all my lessons are prepared for the next 3 weeks.

I have a few friends coming round this evening to watch a movie, do a bit of knitting and drinking tea. So a big Friday night in for me. :rotfl:

I have decided to stop going to book club, I mentioned a 'friend' a while ago who had been bad mouthing me to everyone and recently I have noticed that I am no longer being invited out with them. I just can't be bothered to try and pretend that we are all friends, when evidently they are taking sides. :( Although I feel sad about it, I also think I dont want to be friends with people like this, who decide without any reason, to believe this girl, and then cut me out.

OS WM has been on, washing up done, house dusted, and left overs eaten.

    Have a good day everyone.

Bright and frosty here in Bristol. I prefer this weather to the awful damp but I guess more spend on heating.....

    Morning all,

Got to have a big clean up today-viewers coming tomorrow.Lets hope its not a waste of time.DH & DS2 have gone off to measure up some gutters and fascias, but hopefully back at lunchtime to give me a hand.I couldnt do much yesterday as I looked after DGNephew(9 months)He's so funny to watch as he crawls at speed on the wooden floors,so busy all the time:)I ended up taking him out in DGDs pram for a long walk,he fell asleep, and woke up just as I was walking back down the drive ;)
I need to get the BM on soon, only half a loaf left.
Turkey and ham pie for tea, just need to make the pastry.I have some potatoes that are past their best ,but need to use them as things are so tight here.Still sent DH off for a couple of pints to meet his regular Thursday club pals though,he's very stressed at the mo so thought it would do him good.He got a lift there & back so not too bad.He actually came home with a bottle of champagne-one of our friends borrowed our season tickets for the footie on Boxing Day (we couldnt go as DGD was coming for the afternoon)so it was a thank you.

Miffy-we too have been in your position, and its a horrible position to be in-hugs.
Tru-glad your hip is improved, must be all that climbing up ships rigging to fix your skull and crossbones :D
Hugs to those in need-LW hope youre ok,and Lou
Julie-hope you'll still post when you get to Oz :)
