when it downloads right click on it and select open
Windows wont know what to use so select
Select a program from a list of installed files, and press OK
Next select Browse and look on the Desktop If that it was where it was saved or in Downloads if it was there) highlight the file aswMBR.xzyzx
and select ok
it should bring up the avast aswmbr tool and ask you as waddler suggested earlier, I will post that in a moment.

• Click yes to the prompt to download Avast! virus definitions.
• Set the AVscan to Quick Scan, & click the Scan button.
• When the scan reports "Scan finished successfully", click Save log & save the log to your desktop.
• Click OK when prompted. aswMBR.txt & MBR.dat will be appear on your desktop.
• Click EXIT.
• Copy & paste the contents of aswMBR.txt & post it here.

Don't click to fix anything yet, just post the log.

If it runs, there's no need now to down avast's definitions. Clcik NO to the prompt instead. You'll then not see the AVscan options then.

Follow debitcards instructions to see if it runs. If it does, then do this:

I have managed to download to desktop and have right clicked and selected the option to select a program from a list, but it has brought up a list am I choosing a program here?
