I've been listening to Steel Panthers 1st album the last couple of weeks and I've been trying very very hard not to sing the songs when my DD is around,(I don't think I'd want her singing this (underwear) either at school). I found myself singing "fat girl" in a really gorgeous girls office yesterday :rotfl: I was a bit
when I realised, she did look at me very strangely.

Oh I know about that and as I said I totally agree - I was there, on the disabled platform! It also p'd me off that they insisted on all day to soundcheck so we missed half a day of the festival and bands.
This year looks ace though.
Aha! Hello then Ames, I was on there myself. I did want to take on live nation and ask for a third of my ticket price back at the time, should have done it really. Live nation were as much to blame for pandering to them, really they should have said that no headliner is greater than the festival. I think AC/DC lost a lot of fans that year.
This year does look amazing, whether I get there or not is debatable as Im probably moving some time around then so costs and practicalities win over.0 -
Hello! I've been to Download twice (the first time was when Kiss headlined a few years ago), and in general I think they're fantastic adn well organised. I'm used to going to Leeds festival, where they do the bare minimum of disabled access stuff.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Oh its been sung constantly in this house, all will be quiet when the shout of "Tell me Mr Moore what are you doing on the floor" goes out . I get your point though, how old is DD? Not such an issue here now as mine are 14 and 19 now.
Steel Panther are fab, harking back to the good old days of glam rock. I did love the Crue, Poison, GnR, Vain etc, but by the same token I loved Metallica, Maiden and Megadeth. There is a (possibly) Swedish glam rock band called Reckless Love who you should check out as well if you appreciate the good old 80's glam
I don't mind some of the newer stuff though0 -

My best friend and I have been going for about 5 years now, its our 'girly weekend'We were there for Kiss, amazing night!
I've been to Leeds a couple of times but only in the Family Camping, which was a hike and a half from the main arena, not ideal with kids really.
DL has always been really organised and brilliant for disabled access, Sally at Live Nation is fab have to say.0 -
I agree, Sally's wonderful.
Lol, a metal festival is my girly weekend away too!
The disabled camping at Leeds is really far away too, and the year before last they decided that no cars could be anywhere near it and had to be two fields away. The number of complaints about that was incredible, especially since they'd cut the size of the disabled platform in half.
And you're a LOTR fan? Are you me in disguise? lol.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
I was 15, went to see Ash at the Barrowlands in Glasgow with my 18 year old brother. Got right in the moshpit and got squashed and shoved all over. It was great!
I'm sure your boy will be fine, and I'm willing to bet that in a years time he'll be totally mortified if you mentioned he went to an Alexandra Burke concert... :rotfl:0 -

hehe I am yes
You will recognise me should you ever see me at festivals from the elvish script with evenstar tattooed around my left wrist
I'd heard a few tales of woe about Leeds and Disabled access. I thought by now they would have sorted it out.0 -

I loved most of that lot, still do, my record collection is full of all kinds of stuff and played often!Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
