We went out on Friday night with a few people, and then the next day, my BF's housemate said to him "hey how come you called me 4 times last night, I was with you!" BF looked at his phone and it seems that all kinds of random numbers had been called from his contact list and just random typed in numbers, and he had sent 2 voice recordings of just pub noise to both his housemate and another friend of his. BF said that he keeps his phone in his back pocket and can only conclude that he was sat on it, managed to unlock the keypad, and was unknowingly calling everyone under the sun with his bottom! He called one of the same numbers again on Friday and her name begins with A and is close to the top of the contacts list. I was with him the whole night and I know he wasn't calling anyone.
He showed me the calls, in a kind of "look at this how stupid" kind of way, and as he scrolled down he got to the ones from last week. I said "Isn't **** your ex?" and he said that one of the numbers was his ex's, but the other one wasn't, it was an old work colleage he hadn't spoken to for years (though they have the same name), and that he hadn't remembered calling anyone last week at all, so he assumed the same thing must have happened again. In his draft messages there was also a blank text message to her number as well as 5 blank texts to other numbers. I said to him, you know this looks dodgy because it looks as if you called a taxi and then called an ex's number, but he swears he didn't call any taxis and didn't knowingly call anyone. He showed me everything in his phone to try and reassure me that he wasn't doing anything behind my back, he says he has no desire to be in contact with that ex any more and is embarrassed if anything that he called her at that time. I think it highly unlikely he'd have been so open to show me his phone if there really was something to hide, so I am going to let this one go. If the two numbers were two different people, then it's highly likely that it was a) an accident or b) a severe case of drink dialling.Car loan £4500 - paid off early July 2013

I can't believe someone suggested calling the taxi company to corroborate his story. That's crazy.
I would personally do nothing. He was drunk and maybe he tried calling her for any number of reasons. Maybe someone said something that reminded him of her, maybe he did want to call up and get closure on the fact he was happy now despite everything or maybe he even drunkenly missed her - and the fact is NOTHING HAPPENED. Even if he did miss her then there's nothing you can do about it - you can't police his thoughts, and getting paranoid and questioning him isn't going to make it any better. Just let it go. Keep an eye out for weird behaviour but let it go. And stop going through his phone!0 -
And maybe he didn't reply because it was loud in the pub or he was asleep?0
