They're only strawberry if they're in London.

You claimed I said that "nobody" does.

    I didn't.

I don't seem to be the only one who thinks you don't understand what you said.

My life is just fine with a 4 hour commute each day. I leave the house at 06:15 and get home at 18:30 every week day. I get to spend time in the evenings with my 6 month old, I have weekends off... there's no problem. Better than not having a job at all.
I had a similar commute, but could never guarantee that I could get away at 4.30pm and take work home - in fact would often end up working later than 8pm in the evening and still take work home. It didn't take long before a real resentment set in and I moved on to a role much closer to home. My sleep patterns are still highly disturbed 4 years on.

I take it you are not a mother? It would make me desperately sad to have a 6-month old baby and have to be away from them for that length of time.

Incidently you didn't say 'many people don't' nor did you say 'not many'. you said 'no they don't'.

    It's like saying

    Those ice creams are strawberry

    No they aren't.

    Oh.

Well, some are, but some aren't.

Oh, but you just said they aren't strawberry

    Oh I meant some aren't

Oh, why didn't you say some aren't then?

Well, I just don't know what I'm talking about do I? I've never seen a strawberry ice cream so I am an unreliable witness.

    *Sigh*

Many people commute for 2 hours.

"No they don't" - Therefore NOT many commute for 2 hours.

    Simples.

but yuo still can't prove it, you're going off the people you know and work with rather than people who are telling you they commute long distance and even official figures

'No they don't' - therefore they [these people] do not commute for 2 hours.

No I can't prove it and neither can you. Not unless you or I get the commuting figures for every working person in the UK.
