Hi Shiraz,
I would ring them otherwise they're going to get restless! Tell them that you've been advised by CCCS that you need last month's payment returned to you due to personal circumstances and that they'll get their payment next month. Don't enter into long-winded conversations with them, if they ask lots of questions just politely tell them to speak to CCCS and say goodbye. You could also write to them all instead?

Thanks SAAC I will try ringing them. I rang Santander they other day to ask them to move my payment day until end of month as I am being charged a late paument fee every month but they said we cant do that u will have to go into a branch she said she can only take payments! I will see how I get on. cccs haven't suggested I send token payments.LBM DEC 2011 Started DMP DEBTS 49K DFD DEC 2021. GOAL TO BE DF BY 2017 :beer:0

Hi I'm very worried now, just had another letter from studios in house debt collection saying that a demand will be made on or after 25th Feb of £1700. I can apply to the court to have more time to pay and I should consult a solicitor or CAB, does this mean they r taking me to court?? I'm only in month 2 of my DMP with CCCS and they've only had one payment. Is it just another scare tactic cause its working, I've not had any court papers yet??LBM - December 2011, Total Debt - £13493.30, DFD - Mar 2021

Hi Joyanne,
It sounds like they're trying to scare you - try not to let them. Ultimately they can't have what you haven't got. If there haven't been court papers etc, it sounds like they are talking out of their behind....
Why not give CCCS a ring and see what they advise. Tehy'll probably say ignore the letter and just keep making the payments through them and see what happens. We had this with MBNA and it was all hot air.

Hi Blushing Rose glad u got sorted Im sure you will be able to make missing payment up in future. I got a reply back from cccs saying they have refunded last months payment back for me to buy a cheap car but have told me to ring creditors and tell them the situation because they have minimal contact with them.Do u thing I should ring them or juat see what happens. Thanks
We wrote to them all with a token payment postal order. Haven't had any fallout yet, but expecting some soon, esp when they realise that all their payments will be going down anyway! Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

14 years is scary but when you look at how long it would take to pay back otherwise it would be probably 40 or more.
We have not got our new bank account set up, missed our first loan payment today, although I have sent a letter and token payment. Was worried about phone calls but we are cancelling our landline so they won't be able to get us anyway :-)0 -
I've just had a phone call from CCCS - such a lovely chap he was who rung. He went through my budget and it's all fine, we discussed sending the paperwork back - I've held off with it because I'm waiting for statements and also waiting to close my current HSBC account once direct debits and salary/tax credits/child benefit payments are moved over to go into my new natwest account. He said to send the statements I have and add a letter with account numbers/credit card numbers for the ones I'm waiting for. I explained one debt figure is an estimate and he said its fine. Also with regards the bank account he said they can leave HSBC off the dmp for upto 6 weeks giving me time to get everything moved across.
Also I've to continue ignoring the plethora of phone calls from creditors (or preditors as you all call them he he!) and just send the letter and token payment.
So I do feel much better, less bogged down and a bit more upbeat about things.0 -
I found you all
! I was wondering why i was getting no notifications, you'd all moved to a new thread
I'm one year into my dmp now and still haven't managed to save up much of an emergency fund. How do all you long-timers do it?! I would have had £200 this month but a tyre was flat & needed replacing. Last month it was something else on the car. Our dishwasher has just broken and DH doesn't think he can fix it....i'm really struggling esp since upping our payments (by £210 a month!) to save anything for emergencies such as these! Am i missing a trick??? I'd rather not lower my payments if i can help it as we'll be debt free much quicker this way and we don't really struggle on anything else other than all the broken things cropping up EVERY month!

Hi Guys,
Im really worried as im about to enter a dmp. I cant afford to pay the minimum payments anymore on my debts and think that this is my only option. I really dont want to change my current account but as i have a loan with them i am being told i have to. has anyone not changed if so have you been ok? Really worried but know i'll be better off doing it. going to be hard sticking to budgets for 6 years which the online thingy says it'll be but I know i'd never be able to pay otherwise each month because i used to pay off one monthly payment with another credit card and now they are all maxed out. **sigh* but I am fighting myfears and know i have to do something.
the changing of my bank is my biggest worry but also my partner and I want to have a child before its too late. how do you go about changing your circumstances? are the creditors generally ok about payments dropping?
look forward to your comments0
