Just been through another review with CCCS as the HP on our car finishes this monthly and our month dmp payment jumps by £254 per month! but.... our debt free date comes 3years and 2 months closer:j

I don't think that I have ever been so happy to pay more to something:o We can now see more than a chink of light at the end of the tunnel

Over the last 18 months our DFD has gone from Nov 2022 to Mar 2017... so to everyone starting out, hang in there it does get better:)

    Take care

But feels good to be doing something
  • Hi Daniel,

Tesco have been no bother at all with us. FWIW, MBNA never accepted our DMP - well, that's what they said, but they accepted our payments for over a year before selling the debt and the % was frozen. Usually CCCS/Payplan basically send the payments to the creditor anyway and see what happens.

This reminded me, my car finance situation has hopefully resolved itself, 3 years up on my renault selections and I was having a panic about where I would go next, apparently renault finance told me they will make me an offer to spread the remainder (balloon pmt) over the next 24 months, this will be based on my record with them :) - hopeful this will resolve my issue about how I was going to hold onto my reliable car :)

Hey BR what happened about the car?

My car has gone in today, needs a new clutch and I have been quoted £600 just for the parts alone. With the labour the cost is going to come to a lot more than I have got. I will have to contact CCCS but not sure how much I will be allowed to reduce my payment by. However no car, no job and then no one would get any money. :rotfl:

Now I know some of you will be spluttering your coffee everywhere when you exclaim £600 !! Just for parts!! Yes sadly it is true I have cross checked the prices out and it is nearly £400 just for the fly wheel alone. Maybe I will get lucky and it won't need replacing. The brakes will need doing soon and the service is overdue.......sigh

    Hey ho it's only money.

Hiya, picked it up today, it's been in since Monday.
It was the exhaust valve after all, and it's nor purring like a kitten and is waaaay more responsive than it's been for months so you can find yourself half way down the street by accident. However, it cost us £225  but the amount that the CCCS didn;t take covers this so it's not all bad. Just means that the predators only got £1 token payments this month.

We've also arranged with CCCS for them to take less per month now anyway so the predators will be unhappy and we'll probably get letters, perhaps even defaults, we'll have to wait and see - now means our DMP is 14 years to pay off currently!
