DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 8

Ive just had a mammoth 'conversation' with Ll*yds on the phone about my current account. They have been charging me about £40 a month interest and my DMP pays them about £45, so effectively Im going nowhere. When I checked with CCCS, this is because Im within my limit for overdaft!
I rang to speak to them about it and after 4 different operators in Collections who didnt understand my questions (as they obviously werent on their 'script') they are refusing to cancel my overdaft unless I go into a branch - which Ive explained I cant do because I work full time, but they didnt understand this either.
they are so frustrating!!!! arrgh!!!
Im off to write a complaint letter (as per CCCS instructions) but I wont hold my breath for any good resolution!!
Rant over. thanks for listening xxSealed Pot no 20110 -

Have you ever complained to Lloyds before? If so, don't bother writing again because they are useless. Go straight to the FOS and explain everything that has happened.

Hi all hope everyone is well, we are still on the rollercoster! Car failed MOT yesterday and needs a fair bit of work about £500, I have emailed CCCS to see if we can make our first payment in December rather than next month as its our only hope, no car and hubby cant get to work, are they usually sympathetic to such requests?
Sorry to hear this savvysass but am sure CCCS will allow you to delay by a month.
On a positive note, it's better that it's happened before you are set upLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

I totally agree. They couldnt tell me anything, all disagreed with each other and in the end kept passing me around. One even said they needed the original information for CCCS again because it might have changed (Ive only been in this since May 12).
Is there a specific template to use to complain to FOS, or should I just draft something up?

You can phone the FOS and they pre-fill the letter and send it out for you to sign. They are really friendly, helpful and efficient

Well despite buying some Christmas pressies in the sales for the kids, a couple of birthdays and bike repairs we have managed to get to payday with £3 still left in the bank! :jYou are probably taking in a sharp breath at the closeness of this but I was keeping an eye on it, honest.;)
Still no reply from HSBC yet. I'm guessing the snail must still be on the moon.
Looking forward to a couple of things, a) next dmp payment soon b) purchasing a new slow cooker. Have invited parents to lunch this weekend and DH has agreed that it would be easier to be able to cook larger joints of meat in the slow cooker as I think our current one is medium sized around 3l. I wonder if I will ever use the oven again :rotfl:
Hope you all have a stress free weekend.0 -

Our cooker is gas, and quite old, so we have no settings like that, but as I'm in all day, most days, it's no hardship to stick stuff in a pot and then in the oven for a few hours.
not sure I could justify the cost to Mr BR for a slow cooker.
It may sound counter intuitive but the expense will soon be paid back. Argos are doing a 3.5l one for £11.99 right now. You can buy the cheapest cuts of meat and after several hours they come out really tender, power consumption is low and you can batch cook. Check out your local discount book store for slow cooking recipe books, avoid American ones though.
There is one drawback though, the smell of cooking food can drive you mad.Proud to have dealt with my debts, became debt free on 03/11/2011. Repaid £54,723.41 LBM May 2006.

hairy bikers low fat lamb tanginne to go in ours this week, we got a decent piece of lamb from Lidl last night for £6, am sure it will be lovely after being in there for 8 hrs.
On the DMP front my wages have gone into my new bank account and i have had the first heart stopping moment of using the card for the first time, so heres to the start of the rest of our lives, no more robbing Peter to Pay paul, no more panicking that we're not going to get to the end of the month and having to resort to CC, just living within our means and paying off what we owe,,,,,,,,,,,, it maybe a long road, but at least its now a road with an end:):):) Have a good weekend DMP's am off to walk the dogs in a minute, something that gives me great pleasure and costs nowt as we say in Yorkshire
LBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)
1 year down 5 to go and now under 30k and 10% paid off :beer:0
