Well despite buying some Christmas pressies in the sales for the kids, a couple of birthdays and bike repairs we have managed to get to payday with £3 still left in the bank! :jYou are probably taking in a sharp breath at the closeness of this but I was keeping an eye on it, honest.;)
Still no reply from HSBC yet. I'm guessing the snail must still be on the moon.
Looking forward to a couple of things, a) next dmp payment soon b) purchasing a new slow cooker. Have invited parents to lunch this weekend and DH has agreed that it would be easier to be able to cook larger joints of meat in the slow cooker as I think our current one is medium sized around 3l. I wonder if I will ever use the oven again :rotfl:
Hope you all have a stress free weekend.hairy bikers low fat lamb tanginne to go in ours this week, we got a decent piece of lamb from Lidl last night for £6, am sure it will be lovely after being in there for 8 hrs.
On the DMP front my wages have gone into my new bank account and i have had the first heart stopping moment of using the card for the first time, so heres to the start of the rest of our lives, no more robbing Peter to Pay paul, no more panicking that we're not going to get to the end of the month and having to resort to CC, just living within our means and paying off what we owe,,,,,,,,,,,, it maybe a long road, but at least its now a road with an end:):):) Have a good weekend DMP's am off to walk the dogs in a minute, something that gives me great pleasure and costs nowt as we say in Yorkshire
It's fantastic to see the positivity of these posts. Well done Tigsmom and Lizzy :T
I can see we need a slow cooker club as well as a geek gang :rotfl:

I agree
DMP land has it ups and downs but even on the downside it's a fair site better than the alternatives.
The support on here is amazing and has certainly got me through. These things only work by having a critical mass of people though so please will the newbies and ones lurking in the wings make sure you stick around or at lest pop by to say hi and share experiences from time to time.

We are just starting the DMP with CCCS. All letters went out and we've sent everything that CCCS needs. Our creditors on the whole have been fine. However, Creation Finance has been calling every single day although we called them when we started, sent our letter with the token payment and so on. I finally told them to stop the harassment. Our son has special needs and I am going to have to work part time, which I told CCCS. I was told even with the reduced hours we have enough surplus to pay our creditors.
It was a real worry as our son has just turned 4 and we've been trying to sort things out for him since he was 2 years old. For the first time we are being heard after he was excluded from 4 nurseries and has been excluded 4 times since starting reception on 10 September.Husband's LBM: 26 September 2012

Hi Alyxzandra, well done for getting things underway with your DMP. It is a stressful time but once it is up and running things will be a lot better. As to the phone calls just keep repeating the mantra 'I am doing a DMP with CCCS and this is my number ......'
The calls will stop eventually and you can always write to them asking them to contact you by letter only. There are lots of letter templates on national debtline website.
I'm glad you are at last getting help with your son. It is so difficult to get the professionals to give a diagnosis and without it you can't access the help needed. Are the school being helpful or are they just putting it down to bad behaviour? Hope you get something sorted soon.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Morning All,
hope everyone is well.
Quick DMP update. 11 days to go till first payment.
MBNA - stopped all charges and interest.
Barclaycard - reduced interest to 3% and stopped charges.
Santander OD - stopped charges and interest
Argos - Rejected CCCS offer.
So not a bad start, but I appreciate a lot of stressful times to follow.
Also, anyone else having real trouble watching Eastenders. It is so painful for me with all the debt storylines at the moment.
G1WLBM 12.09.12 - £53K in debt.
DFD - 11.07.2019 (OMG).
New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.
Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.0 -

We keep telling them our DMP number. If they continue after what I told them today we will be sending them a letter to put everything in writing. But, told them this verbally today. So, we will see.
My son has been with a team around the family for support for his behaviour for 2 years and under a paediatrician just as long. But, because he was so young it was not easy. The school have put everything into place and he is now being taught 1-1, but not in the classroom. We've applied for a statement with the school. The TAF were useless. They came up with all kinds of silly things like we exposed him to old Godzilla films and rock music, which has made him aggressive. Oh, and Star Wars.
The school has now taken over from the TAF, thankfully. He's had speech therapy assessment and will be seeing an education psychologist. Paediatrician is ordering joint autism and ADHD testing, which everyone thinks he has. But, a specialist teacher noticed he may be having petit mal seizures (eye rolling, eyes glazing over, stopping what he is doing, etc). So, he is being seen by the GP next week for a referral for full blood work and an EEG.Husband's LBM: 26 September 2012

Morning all, I am having a really bad day today, can't stop crying thinking about the mess we have got ourselves into, just when I think it will all be ok something else rears its ugly head. It has been such a rotten year for us this year I will be glad to see the back of it!
On a more positive note you have all inspired me to dig my slow cooker out and beef stew is cooking as I type, nice bit of comfort food for later!0 -

Hang in there. My car just cost £1000, which is more than probably it is worth. How well do you know your mechanic? Mine has agreed to allow us to pay a certain amount per month. I have been with him for 10 years and he knows our situation. We incorporated the payments in our DMP and once it is paid off we will take that money and add it onto the amount being paid to our creditors.
Or, you can call CCCS and explain the situation. I was told they allow once off expenses like this.Husband's LBM: 26 September 2012

Hi
No wonder you are all over the place wiith the year you have had and the DMP start and redundancy so close together too. Call CCCS and defer the start for a month. Hang onto the car bills as you can send these to the creditors. Remember DMPs are informal and they are meant to allow you money for bills and food and the surplus paid to the debt not the other way around. Keep in there. I hope you really enjoy the stew. Come back and moan all you like, most of us have had dark times. They will get better.

Hey guys,
I'm on a self managed DMP, and my car has just cost me £850
So I have agreed with the garage 2 payments £425 each, which is roughly what I am paying my preditors, so I have wrote to them all and sent them £1 token payments and advised them all regular payments will resume on 21st Dec....
So I am taking 2 months out, I will send them all another token payment of £1 each next month...
Now I'm waiting for the fallout.......
But I have learnt they can't have what I don't got
Hope everyone has a good weekend :T0
