Went out and blewed £15 on one from Morrisons on the back of this thread, used it last week, and we have a piece of Briskett to go in it this week.

Just a bit worried today does anyone know how long it takes to swap DD over yourself as the co op sent out a form for me to sign a couple of weeks ago and i never received it, my salary will be paid into my new bank account on Friday, but no DD set up, i am thinking it maybe easier to try and do them myself, definately the Mortgage and the council tax,
LBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)
1 year down 5 to go and now under 30k and 10% paid off

I found it very simple to just cancel DDs and set up new ones. That way I was in control and knew what was sorted and what was left to do. When you cancel a DD they soon get in touch... bingo!

Am thinking that maybe the way to go, cancel them all, let them get in touch and then i can sort it from there

I cancelled mine and set them up again one at a time using online banking.

The only worry I would have re cancelling and letting them get in touch is that it could possibly act as an excuse for them to invalidate insurance etc so if you have any DDs for car or house insurance, I would try and do those as a priority.

I am a tad paranoid about this as I remember my mum not renewing her house insurance the month before she was due to move house and got broken into 3 days before the move :(

    Ouch. That is bad luck.

I just rang up and set most of my dd's up over the phone. Some were instant. Council tax took ages, new form etc. We are now paying less but extra month to make up for them being slow.

    I know the feeling !

My younger brother is 8 years younger than me, and so when he became a teenager both my parents were earning sufficent money to get him all the stuff that me and my older sister never got, because my parents couldnt afford it.

At first I was jealous of him and then thought "If I had been born last that COULD have been me" and so therefore blamed my mum (dad was working abroad) for spoiling him rotten.

I then moved on with my life and never let it bother me.

Mum and dad have always given us the same but she has taken advantage of them over the years and had more babysitting time, sunday lunches etc out of them. I won't take advantage because I believe they should enjoy their retirement. My sisters husband has grafted to give her nice clothes, nice house, car, holidays, nights out etc but she's still throwing it back in his face. She will never learn. I just feel sorry for the kids and also angry for her giving mum & dad grief at this time in their life. She will put them in an early grave.

A bit of good news from me today, Santander have sent me a letter saying that they are complying with CCCS and my monthly payments from them and that they wont be adding on any further interest. One down, 5 to go! x
