Hi all my update as seem to be around the same kicking off stage of DMP.

I spoke with Barclays a couple of weeks back to confirm they would hold my account for 30 days. ( this still wont be enough until they receive payment on 25th. However very nervous about HBOS as alot on forum are saying they are a nightmare, they havent cashed my cheque for the CC but have for the loan. I am only now going to be defaulting on the cc this week and loan next week. Will send a another token payment next week to cover next month but not sure how its going to sit with HBOS. Only good thing is i finally got the statement of my loan from HBOS and it is 2k less than i thought so thats something.

  • Our plans look the same, although I do owe about £15K more. Good luck with everything. Keep me updated.

Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.
  • Hi All

Quick update. Received my first default notice today from Aqua Card Services. Bit scary as it states that a payment must be received by the 25th October otherwise they will default the account and full amount will become payable.

Immediately called CCCS and informed them. Very helpfull lady said that it's nothing to worry about, in fact it's better to default the account and have it passed onto a Debt Collection Agency as they will more likely freeze any interest and will accept the DMP.

Also, as yesterday was our "1st of the Month". Paid all priority bills and put together our weekly budget amounts out of what was left over. Wife also bought a slow cooker yesterday (£20 in Argos :)) so will be checking back through this thread for some great recepies.
    LBM - August 2012
    DMP Start - 01/11/2012
    DMP Finish - 01/09/2014

Thanks to all on MSE. :T

    Good morning all

Finally some good news, first payment to CCCS to begin 10th November, phone has been very quiet apart from Barclaycard phoning 10 times a day but I ignore it.

Got another job, start at the beginning of November so fingers crossed things are finally going in the right direction.

The relief of having it all sorted is immense, to those just starting out on their Debt Free Journey don't be scared, you have taken control by facing up to things, and things will only get better x

    Great news

Now, they do say it comes in threes......

    More good news

Another note for newbies - debt dollection guidance states that if youusing not for profit DMP providoer the creditors have to give you the first 30 days breathing space.

  • Hi everyone, just wanted to post a quick update on current situation. We had everything back from CCCS so its all ready to go, first payment will be made on 1st November! So far I have had a letter from barclaycard saying they will freeze interest and charges and wait to hear from CCCS, Default notice from MINT, letter from Next offering a reduced payment plan for 3 months, letter from HSBC saying they cant do anything until I send them a letter with signature that matches their records!? and an arrears letter from Black Horse with a leaflet telling me to contact one of the agencies! Only HSBC are pestering with phone calls but I have now blocked them on my mobile! I have sent token payments again and another letter advising that CCCS should have been in touch by now blah blah. Santander have also wrote to say they accept the proposed payment plan and all charges will be stopped! So just Tesco Credit Card now.
I know this is only the start, but it's been much easier than I thought it would be, CCCS have been amazing and this board is so useful for those who are thinking of doing it, but are scared - like I was! Thank you again for ongoing motivation, support and advice!

Loving this thread today, so much positive news

  • Morning all,

So this morning I received a letter from MOORCROFT stating the RBS (Our AA Card - booooooo!!!!) had passed on instructions to arrange collection of our outstanding debt with them (£11600),

We've been paying them £374.00 but considering they are still charging us interest (curtrently £116 a month) the debt is just going up and up!

So, I called CCCS and told them the details and they said they'll arrange for the payments to be sent to Moorcroft now and not to worry as they won't come knocking on my door (they really are the best!).

BUT - I searched on here and it seems Moocroft are a bunch of scaremongers and charge for every letter sent out!! I phoned them and got a rather pompous and jumped up little s**t on the phone who said he would put a hold on my account until CCCS got in touch.

So my questions to you wonderful peeps are:

    a) Should I write to Moorcroft and state catigorically that I will only corresopond with them in writing and not for them to call at my door
    b) Complete the pro forma on the National Debt line website and state that I think we've been unfairly treated with the continued interest and charges for letters and insist they stop and refund the charges (as a lot of people on here seem to have done). If they refuse then forward to the FSA?
    c) should I start panicking......................:rotfl:I do treat my debt seriously btw (hysterical laughter really!)

Look forward to receiving your advice and thanks in advance :T

I sent a couple of letters to Moorcroft as they were charging interest on my debt passed to them from Egg. I used the ones of the National Debtline Site. I then followed this up with phone call. During the call they confirmed that they would stop interest and charges. I stated that I wanted written confirmation and they provided this. So, it took a little work but in the end all was ok with Moorcroft - for now anyway. I am now doing battle with a Littlewoods instead:mad:
