    Hi All,

    Just a quick question?

Are CCCS going to send me a password to access my account online. Not received anything in the last week since it was set-up.

Also, I was considering ringing all my creditors just to see if they have had contact from CCCS. Worth doing?

As I recall, you put in that you have forgotten your password and they email you with a new one. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I wouldn't phone my creditors but it's obviously your choice. My advice would be to let things calm down for a couple of weeks, allow CCCS to make the first payment, then check who is still charging interest and write them a polite letter asking them to stop and your reasons why they should :)

  • Morning all,

So this morning I received a letter from MOORCROFT stating the RBS (Our AA Card - booooooo!!!!) had passed on instructions to arrange collection of our outstanding debt with them (£11600),

We've been paying them £374.00 but considering they are still charging us interest (curtrently £116 a month) the debt is just going up and up!

So, I called CCCS and told them the details and they said they'll arrange for the payments to be sent to Moorcroft now and not to worry as they won't come knocking on my door (they really are the best!).

BUT - I searched on here and it seems Moocroft are a bunch of scaremongers and charge for every letter sent out!! I phoned them and got a rather pompous and jumped up little s**t on the phone who said he would put a hold on my account until CCCS got in touch.

So my questions to you wonderful peeps are:

    a) Should I write to Moorcroft and state catigorically that I will only corresopond with them in writing and not for them to call at my door
    b) Complete the pro forma on the National Debt line website and state that I think we've been unfairly treated with the continued interest and charges for letters and insist they stop and refund the charges (as a lot of people on here seem to have done). If they refuse then forward to the FSA?
    c) should I start panicking......................:rotfl:I do treat my debt seriously btw (hysterical laughter really!)

Look forward to receiving your advice and thanks in advance :T

    Personally I would only do b}

Even there are no guarentees that they will stop the charges, but you can but ask.

    Everything else leave upto CCCS.

Do you mean £374 per month? Your other thread states £37!

If you are paying £37 a month and have been charged £116 per month in interest, have you officially complained to the creditor? If so and they have not responded to your satisfaction or not responded at all, you should contact the FOS and ask them to take up the complaint on your behalf.

As this has now been passed to a DCA, I am not sure how the FOS will deal with it but we have found them really approachable, friendly and helpful so I would still give it a go.

Sorry I don't know anything about Moorcroft, all of our debts are still with the original creditors but am sure someone will be along to help on this or the DFW thread soon.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on :)

  • Hi TTFTM

It's a typo in my other post - we pay them £74 a month.

Tbh (and this is my fault) I'd never noticed they were charging the interest - I only realised when I was updating my balances on my CCCS account and wondered why it had increased by so much. CCCS did tell us that the debts would go up for the first couple of months but then should see them coming down (as all of my other creditors have) but The AA card just went up and up. So I fished out all of my old statements and checked and they've been charging me at the higher %APR even though my original debt was on a 3% payback for the term of the amount. I know I shouldn't expect them to honour this 3% considering I've defaulted but they haven't written to me to tell me I'm paying the increased %APR. This is why I think if I write to them and ask them to stop and refund the amount they've applied since May (and they refuse) I could have a case with the FOS as they should have informed me in writing that they were going to increase the %APR surely?

I've got my letters printed off so I'll send them recorded post this afternoon and see what happens.

I'll keep you all updated and thanks for the advice thus far!

  • Definitely agree. Send the letters and don't hesitate to contact the FOS f you don't get a response or the response that you want.

Good luck and keep fighting :T

thought i would give an update as well, we feel a bit in limbo if i'm honest we have had info back from Mbna who have frozen all interest and will accept our offer, M and s who are happy at the moment, Barclaycard, again have frozen all interest, Marbles haven't really acknowledged it at all, just sent another statement with a shed load of interest on, and nothing at all from Santander and Natwest, and a letter is ready to be sent off to the Yorkshire bank at the weekend as thats when my last dd goes for my council tax from my old account, the good news is living on our budget is no great shakes we've been doing that for years, i even managed to get my car fixed last weekend and pay cash, and have money left this week which will probably go towards a christmas present for someone, i know there are tough times ahead, but i know we'll get through this and come out of it the otherside much better
LBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)
1 year down 5 to go and now under 30k and 10% paid off
  • Hi everyone, just wanted to post a quick update on current situation. We had everything back from CCCS so its all ready to go, first payment will be made on 1st November! So far I have had a letter from barclaycard saying they will freeze interest and charges and wait to hear from CCCS, Default notice from MINT, letter from Next offering a reduced payment plan for 3 months, letter from HSBC saying they cant do anything until I send them a letter with signature that matches their records!? and an arrears letter from Black Horse with a leaflet telling me to contact one of the agencies! Only HSBC are pestering with phone calls but I have now blocked them on my mobile! I have sent token payments again and another letter advising that CCCS should have been in touch by now blah blah. Santander have also wrote to say they accept the proposed payment plan and all charges will be stopped! So just Tesco Credit Card now.
I know this is only the start, but it's been much easier than I thought it would be, CCCS have been amazing and this board is so useful for those who are thinking of doing it, but are scared - like I was! Thank you again for ongoing motivation, support and advice!
  • Hi All,

    Hope everyone is doing OK.

Got home from work last night to a letter from MBNA. Felt sick not knowing what it was and waited till kids were in bed before opening!

They have agreed to my DMP payment offer and have stopped all interest and charges! Can't believe it, this is my highest single debt (Over £12K), was not expecting good news! They have asked for a payment immediately in the letter, but they won't get one from CCCS until 25th Nov. I tried ringing them but it says they are closed.

Also, do I need to update my details on the CCCS website for paying them as currently it is blank but there are bank details on the letter.

    DFD - 11.07.2019 (OMG).
New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.

Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.
