Well done on being so close to the finish, that light at the end of the tunnel must be shining brighter every day now :T
Do you still get statements from Tesco or Lloyds TSB? Are can you access the accounts online? If not, I would do as HH suggests and immediately ask for up to date statements.
What does your CCCS statement say is happening to your payments? Have they increased their payment to other creditors recently? I don't think CCCS's explanation makes any sense because many people must be well over their minimum payment and not be in this situation.
Please let us know how you get on
Thanks Time.
Must admit there is no better feeling than watching the debts disappear and knowing it's nearly over.
We will never buy anything on credit again !!
Right now pretty much all of my wage goes on the DMP and we've learnt to live off my OH's wages which means in a few months my wage will be extra money. Can't remember what is was like to have extra money :rotfl:
R.e CCCS' explanation. It didn't make much sense to me either but I wasn't really bothered as the debt's were still being paid but now their not paying Tesco I'll have to sort it out.
My plan is to phone CCCS tomorrow and speak to them but I'm getting fed up of having to do it every month and now think I might be better just going it alone as this keeps happening."Opportunity only knocks once.It doesnt knock, knock again, then leave a note asking you to give it a call back when you've got your s*** together".John Connolly0 -
Thanks TTFTM and HH
It's extremely nerve wracking and we seem to be caught up at the moment as OH needs to let his company know by the 6th october about any bank changes so im keeping everything crossed we get the new bank account details through asap so we can go ahead and start the DMP in November otherwise it will be pushed back to December with two months of token payments and trying to keep our DMP hidden from our current bank!0 -
cariadqueen, ive just set up new account with First Direct believe which is HSBC and it was done with sort code account no within a couple of days. the card and cheque book arrived within a week. So far i have no complaints re them. it was opened on the 18th had by s/c and acc by phone by 20th and had notified my company then and my pay went in on Friday to new account so pretty quick.
will still have to send another months payment as DMP wont start until 1st Nov so creditors wont get until about the 25th Nov. have already sent first lot.LBM Sept 2012

Hi Jubilee
We have set up with the co-op so fingers crossed we have the stuff through in the next couple of days, if not it will probably be a couple of months of token payments and fingers crossed that our bank doesn't get wind of anything!0 -

OH broke the lid on our slow cooker so maybe a new one on the Christmas present list I think;)
Oops I mentioned the 'C' word.
Certainly cooked some delicious meals with it. I found that adding flour thickens up the casseroles nicely. I would coat the meat pieces with the flour and then brown them in the frying pan before adding to the slow cooker.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

For the newbies, freezer, slowcooker and microwave are absolute essential combinations to make the most of food bargains that give you great flavour and nutrition at a fraction of the cost that you may have paid in the past.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

I don't use mine a lot, well not at all now since OH broke the lid. It is fantastic to get home from work and walk in to the house with the delicious smell of dinner all ready and waiting and no cooking to do. However I am a lazy cook and found it a bit of a bind having to prepare everything the night before or even worse in the morning before work, but food has got to be prepared at some point in the day so it is swings and roundabouts. If I get another one I would probably get a big one and batch cook at the weekend and then freeze portions for the week ahead.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

I use it lots.
In the past I just used for casseroles.
Now just stick in a chicken, lid on, and then take take the bones out. Soooo succulent. Porridge, rice pub etc. You can get them between £13 and £20 now. I have three different sizes!

I cant believe that tomorrow is our third payment to CCCS, its been so easy to set up and monitor on their website. We have come a long way in the last 5 years after our business failed, we went to hell and back with debts running into tens of thousands, but the DMP is working. We don't get any phone calls now and only standard statements. All but HSBC have stopped interest on the accounts so we are finally getting into the realms of reducing the debts. We have a very long way to go but at least we can now get on with our lives again!
We are finding we can have nice family days out without that constant nagging worry of the debts - another great thing.
This forum has certainly helped us through the tough times and will continue to do so - have a good day everyone!!
Hey Bertman (my plan buddy)
I'm feeling like you. It's like we got our life back and we can get on with living it now without constantly worrying about whether we'll make it this month, or whether the BOE interest rate will rise and we'll need to sell our house because we can't afford the mortgage. For the first time in 5 years, we actually feel like we could stay in this house and enjoy it and it's a great feeling. If anything changes in interest rates or whatever, our DMP will be adjusted to take account of it and we can carry on as normal.
I was originally thinking that a few months in, once we're used to living on a budget, we'd try and increase the monthly payments to the DMP, but now I think we'll just try and put the 'leftovers' from all the budget 'pots' into our savings account and build up a proper safety net. There will be time enough for adjusting DMP payments at the annual review.
Glad things are going well for you.
I read this forum religiously and it keeps me going. Even if I don't check in for a few days, I always go back and pick up from where I left off. You never know what useful tidbit you're going to pick up, and the advice and support is just wonderful.0
