grant1wish wrote: »Hi All,
Sorry, I have re-read my messages and I confused myself.
Update: I have opened a new account with wages going in from End of October. I cannot change my current account just into my name, I would have to open another new account with them so cannot do this.
I am happy that my wife's wages cannot be accessed so that is a relief. All Direct debits have been changed to the first couple of days in Oct apart from one (17th) so I cannot contact my current bank regarding the DMP until this DD has been paid. I have all my statements and filled out the DMP form ready for sending to CCCS. Shall I do this now but make sure they don't contact my bank yet?
Thanks all.
P.S. Wife is still not acknowledging me, but she has definitely changed her spending habits!
Aha so I wasn't so confused. I thought you meant this.
When does your money go in? Im assuming end of September?
Do you have internet banking?
If so
1) have this months salary money paid in say Monday morning 30th Sept or complete these steps in order as soon as if you have it.
2) as soon as possible as it hits your account then transfer the money using online banking out of your existing bank account
3) cancel direct debits and keep proof (you can reinstate them later)
4) for early october bills you were going to pay from existing bank account you can either pay by cash or po or bank transfer wherever you stashing it.
5) if you are worrried re current bank...... cancel all other direct debits except the ones you have with this bank. If you feel you have to (and no reason why you should) tell them you are moving account full stop.
6) Use cash stash for what you need in Sept
7) end of Oct wages to new account and ta de dah
If you dont pay your dds on 1st October you will not combust. They will all just write or call you. Apologise and make arrangement to do a transfer or sent a PO. They will still get there money in this month, will just be a few days late, no big deal
Sorry to hear about the wife, hope she comes around soon and can support you. The naughty person in me wants to say many men would consider you in a fortunate position!!!!! (There, I said it:))

HI G1W,
i am about the same stage as you. Same issue my old bank still has live DD's to pay mortgate CT, so spoke with CCCS and they are waiting till i confirm all the payments have come off ( having to transfer from new account on 28th then 1st to cover the essentials) by next month the DD's in new account should be set up and sorted and CCCS will contact my bank and their CC companies in between ready to start the DMP from 1/11
It is a bit of a juggle about isnt it but better than getting mid month and squirming for any cash at all.LBM Sept 2012

In need of some virtual hugs tonight!
I could scream/cry, I was feeling very positive, all paperwork gone off to CCCS just awaiting confirmation of everything, was looking forward to getting paid on Friday as it ment we could squirral a little away until the DMP started, then today car has failed MOT needs about £200 spending on it, needs taxing on Friday so back to square one
Virtual hugs on the way! Such a pain when this happens, but onwards and upwards as they say!Time_to_face_the_music wrote: »I have confused myself with that one

G1W - I say this with the greatest of respect and by no means talking down to you but Mrs G1W needs a reality check. She needs to acknowledge what your family is going through. This is real.
Please don't take offence by that comment but it's a struggle for you, not just financially, but mentally too. You need her to support you on this. Not turn a blind eye to it. It won't go away.Back in the game...0 -
Hi all just an update from me...
I still haven't heard anything from CCCS, the letter was sent recorded delivery and was delivered last week (checked on Royal Mail site) is this usual? I was awaiting 2 up to date statements for 2 creditors which have finally come today so am going to send a copy off to them, but what is the usual timescale for them getting back and finalising details?0 -

Hi Savvysass,
You can call anytime and quote your ref no and they'll let you know where they are with it. I think mine took about 3 weeks for them to get through all the paperwork I'd sent them, then I had to send some more info through too, a bit like you.
Best thing would be to give them a bell. They'll be able to let you know where they are with it.Back in the game...0 -
hi guys
sorry i havent been around again for a while but have been feeling a bit fragile and a bit worried about what to expect about my first annual review with CCCS but ive just got off the phone to them and it was fine.
ive gone through my budget with them and have actually managed to up my payment slightly which the lady said has knocked 6 months off my DMP so im feeling pretty positive right now.
for all you newcomers i know how scary it is at the start but honestly im only 12 months in and things are looking up for me already. i wasnt hounded ont he phone like i expected to be and my CCCS payment is on my montly spreadsheet and is ticking along nicely.
hope you are all well and things settle down for everyone like they have for me.
