DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 8

Hi everyone! Just a quick question! I sent token payments last month using direct payments from my bank. However, now I've changed banks and DMP is all set up, I need to do this again this month, as the payments are due now and the DMP payment is not starting until 1st November. Will this be ok, do you think? I am goin g to send £1 postal orders and a letter explaining that I'm still in the process of setting up and CCCS should have been in touch.
I've started to receive the overdue letters and arrears letters, most of which actually advise me to contact CAB, CCCS or Payplan! It seems to take about 2 weeks from the date of letter for the postie to actually get it to me, so lots of these would have been sent before they got my (template) letter.
I'm not making much sense am I? Have to be quick, as I'm at work!
I think what I'm asking is, am I ok to send the £1 payments again???
Starting to panic a little, I don't know why? Its that time of the month again - PAYDAY! ;-)0 -

I was in a similar situation when starting my DMP. New bank account was set up, all DD's cancelled at old bank but we hadn't sent out our letters at that point. Then the useless admin staff at OH's work paid his wages into the old account even though he had given them the new bank details several weeks earlier. Absolute panic. Surely they must know by the fact we had cancelled all our DD's that something was going on? So I rushed to the bank asked to withdraw the money and phew no problem, I took the money and ran!
How did you get on?DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

I asked this earlier and just weanted to gauge your thoughts on it.
My main points of worry at the minute are the potential of my bank to carry out off setting when I get paid tomorrow ( I dont think they will but I am paranoid) and also that my overdraft is in joint names. Everything else is in my sole name apart from our current account. CCCS have said this will be OK to still be a single application but I am worried that they might try and enforce my wife to contribute from her wage that is currently kept completely seperate with a different bank? What do you guys think?
Is it worth changing the account to a single account in just my name or is it too late for this/not worth it?
Also, if they do not accept the DMP and keep adding interest/charges how will I ever get to the end of the DMP because the balances are surely just going to stay the same. Perhaps I am being stupid here!
I could be loosing the plot as I have come in half way through conversation. Be assured that if you have debt where you bank I would not tell them about the DMP full stop. Just change bank account. If you must, just pay this months to your bank but not the others
Does that make sense?

Hi again
well sent all off yesterday recorded and got call from CCCS today just need to firm one of the accounts details and they will have it set up for collection from Nov. They are going to hold off notifying HBOS as OD/Loan and CC 1 is with them until after my last DD's come off on the 1st as its Mortgage day.
Feeling very nervous again will be doing a bit of money shuffling tomorrow ( depending if my salary hits the new account too)
Now trying to revisit my budget to see if i can get a bit more out to pay off a bit earlier currently looking at 7 years based on no interest applied so would like to bring this in if can was paying out a grand of debt but had nothing left which forced me to use cc at end of the month which i havent done this month ( i have 20 quid still in the bank)LBM Sept 2012

I may have this wrong but I thought Grant's OD and loan were with HSBC and he was trying to open a new bank account with NatWest. His concern was that the OD account was also in his wife's name and was worried that bank may try and offset her money from another account in a different bank to pay this so he was trying to change OD account to his name only.

In need of some virtual hugs tonight!
I could scream/cry, I was feeling very positive, all paperwork gone off to CCCS just awaiting confirmation of everything, was looking forward to getting paid on Friday as it ment we could squirral a little away until the DMP started, then today car has failed MOT needs about £200 spending on it, needs taxing on Friday so back to square one
The logical part of me is saying we would be in a real mess if I hadn't set the DMP up but why does nothing every go right!!
Tantrum over x
Oh savvysass
Sending virtual hugs your way but am sure it isn't helping. If it really makes things difficult you can always explain to CCCS that you need to make token payments for one more month before starting the DMP.
Hope you are feeling a bit better todayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Good morning all we are all set up and ready to go, my salary will be paid into my co op bank on the 20th of october, and first DMP payment will go on the 1st November, my question this morning is has anybody used the co op switching team to swap their direct debits, and did it go smoothly
We didn't use automatic switching for our DDs because we didn't want our old banks getting suspicious, though I realise this is probably just paranoia on my part
We manually set up all DDs on new Co-Op account then cancelled them all using online banking for old accounts. It was a bit of a faff but everything went out ok right from the first monthLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi All,
Sorry, I have re-read my messages and I confused myself.
Update: I have opened a new account with wages going in from End of October. I cannot change my current account just into my name, I would have to open another new account with them so cannot do this.
I am happy that my wife's wages cannot be accessed so that is a relief. All Direct debits have been changed to the first couple of days in Oct apart from one (17th) so I cannot contact my current bank regarding the DMP until this DD has been paid. I have all my statements and filled out the DMP form ready for sending to CCCS. Shall I do this now but make sure they don't contact my bank yet?
Thanks all.
P.S. Wife is still not acknowledging me, but she has definitely changed her spending habits!LBM 12.09.12 - £53K in debt.
DFD - 11.07.2019 (OMG).
New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.
Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.0 -

I would send it off to CCCs and put a note on for them not to contact your existing bank until you tell them, this is what we have done, i have a note on my file not to contact the Yorkshire bank until after the 20thLBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)
