Hi all!
I just sent my dirct debit mandate off to CCCS yesterday and also all my letters to my creditors. A bit nervous still, dont know why! I had tried to do my own DMP last month but circumstances have changed again so had to go with CCCS. My OH isn't able to work all the shifts she was doing as she is pregnant and has a bad back. I'm hoping my creditors accept the offer from CCCS as this is lower than what I had offered them the first time!
Also, I had to put on unauthorised overdraft on two current accounts, these are all made up of bank charges. Do you think CCCS will be able to get these refunded? I contacted the bank but they refused!
Hi
Your post is a little muddled. Have you taken the overdraft after you started the DMP?

Application says I need to provide proof of MY id and address - will they credit check me for his account? And if so, will the DMP matter? He could apply via his Dad's address but to be honest, as his dad is currently challenging the child benefit (long story!) I don't want my son having anything at his address!
I wouldn't have thought so, have you spoke to your DMP provider and National Debtline about this?

long time lurker in needed of some help advice now
ive just got off the phone with cccs and now feel crap after plucking up the courage to phone them last week and ask for help and actually quite looking forward to getting the phone call from them this morning im now sitting here in tears
they say they cant manage a DMP for us because at the minute it would take 27 years to complete and that i would need to do it myself which i dont know if i can im already suffering from depression and just dont know if i can actually do all the stuff to make a DMP work dont even know what i need to do
sorry that my first message to you all is so down i thought i would be posting this morning of how i was getting started with cccs and that everything was looking much better now i just feel like my whole world has come crashing down
Is it worth trying Payplan? I originally went to them but ended up with CCCS as I didn't think that they could help me originally.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
ok.... have received a letter this morning from 'Reliable Collections' (JD Williams debt) informing me that they have made an appointment to contact me at home on Wednesday (no date, although letter is dated from last Monday) between 6pm and 8pm. No mention or acknowledgment of DMP at all. Am I right in assuming this is just a scare tactic? Do I need to do anything about this? Thanks0

Well, out gas payments have been put up to £66 a month, and yet we'd signed up to a 'keep your payments stable' thing for 5 years (which will end in April). Mr BR is going to ring them and ask why this has happened cos it makes no sense. Also, the only reason why we've stayed with BG is because of this deal and if they're not going to honour it then we might as well just move.
He's going to have to ring the CCCS as well as we've got the MOT this week and I want to confirm with them their promise to not take their money out if we need it for the car repairs. (anyone had experience with this?)
Also...are we able to switch car insurers when on a DMP?Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

I've swapped car and house insurance since I started dmp. Surely things that are money saving can't be frowned upon by our creditors? I have no idea though, I find out new things every day that I just assumed/presumed/took for granted. I've learned more on this site in 2 months than I have in the 22 months I've been on the dmp.Ninja Saving Turtle0

I know someone said recently that car insurance was a credit agreement, you see. Does that mean we need to tell the CCCS first or something? Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Yup. Have you used a template letter to say no doorstep callers?

Hiya, send them this if you like.....
Dear Sirs,
Account No:
Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I have noted your repeated attempts to contact me over the past few weeks and these have been duly logged by time and date.
Furthermore, should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep visit”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make such an appointment with you.
There is an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v Sheppard & Short Ltd [1959] 2 QB 384. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and, if you do so, you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.
Yours faithfully

erm, no.....Where would I find one of those? Thanks HH
The only letter I have sent so far was advising of my financial situation and that I was about to start dmp with CCCS (included token payment) Should I be sending letters asking about stopping charges/interest? I assumed they would contact me first about DMP and I would take it from there but apart from Capital One haven't heard from anyone else (God I am clueless really)0
