For some reason my company's payroll have today asked me (and a couple of others) to fill in ID verfication forms. The wording is as follows:
"I authorise XXX to approach a credit reference agency with my details below in order to verify my identity electronically to satisfy the Money Laundering Regulations 2007. I understand that in the event that XXX is unable to verify my identity electronically I may be requested to provide documentary evidence as an alternative."
Am quite happy to fill it in - nothing to hide - APART from all my defaults and DMP of course!! I really don't want my company to find out (I hold quite a senior position and deal with company money on a regular basis and don't know what people might think if they found out how rubbish I had been with my own money in the past.
Will this credit reference search lead them to find all of this?
Would be grateful for your thoughts - I'm having a bit of a panic attack about this all now.
Ta v much - and TGIF!!

DCA already?
We are in transition - setting up DMP with CCCS and first payment will go 1st March (we're moving house, need a bit of time/cushion until we sort what the new bills/utilities, etc. will be). CCCS should have had our paperwork at the beginning of this week, and our creditors should have our letters explaining the DMP with a token payment.
Have had phonecalls from M&S (CC) and Barclays (OD) and they were really good about it and haven't called again. Today my husband said he's been getting phonecalls at work (through the main office at school) from a DCA?!?!?! Hasn't rung them back, I told him to write instead, but he doesn't want them calling at work anymore.
I'll find out more about who it is and how many times they've called when he gets home, but would we have been sent to a DCA already? The only creditor we haven't had phonecalls from is Lloyds (OD and CC) but I'm sure my husband has had letters. Our payments aren't even a month late yet!0 -

BR, without reading back over the last few posts, is it the 24th your money goes in ? yes it is.
No, we have like £1.60 in the pot.
But, I was just coming back to edit my post and say we now *haven't* run out of money.
Mr BR rang the bank to find out what had come out, and it turned out to be a gas DD, but we hadn't had enough in because we'd already paid them once, so it's been returned. The bank has waived charges as we're new customers. We rang british gas to find out why they'd tried to take money out of the account *twice* in the month...they've said sorry and all is now well.

Hi,
Don't panic. If you haven't missed any payments yet then it's likely to be an in-house collection agency (for example, Blair, Oliver, Scott appear to be your average DCA but they're actually the in-house collector for Bank of Scotland, Halifax etc). The debt could've simply been handed to one of these in-house ones to manage - in many ways these are better because they stop % and charges and *most* seem to be fine to deal with.
What's the name of the organisation calling him? Also, you need to try and stop them ringing work phone numbers - you need to tell them to pack it in, there's a template letter on the National Debtline website.
