Morning folks
If you get a default it starts ticking off the issue from your credit record. You do however need them all off for your record to be clean so if someone doesn't default you until say year 5 your record is blemished for 11 years (6+5). APs etc can be as bad as defaults as you can only be defaulted once but for those accounts that haven't been defaulted they could make an AP mark on your account until the end!
I think it good practice to check your credit record quite often. I signed upto noddle for free, quite a good site in my view.

Hi
Anyone else had loads of problems with Marbles (bank of Scotland)? They are the only creditor that is constantly ringing me and dont seem to have a clue what is going on. This is the first month of my DMP.
CCCS informed them of my repayment offer, they said thay hadnt received it, CCCS then sent another one which they obviously have had as they told CCCS that it was unacceptable at the moment but im still paying it anyway. Then got a phone call last week to say that erm was I on a DMP? Yes i said as you know I am, and then the guy said oh ok we will accept the payment from next month once spending from 2/3 months ago had dropped off the card was that ok? SO I said yes, then got 2 phone calls at home the day after, one on my mobile, then 2 at home yesterday.
I asked why they kept on ringing me and the guy I spoke to (who sounded about 12!) said it was to discuss the arrears on my account blah blah so I again said that I had spoken with someone 2 days before so why were they ringing me again? He said no records of any conversation, no records of DMP, nothing recorded form all the other times I have spoken to them, sent letters etc. So I went off on one!
He then asked if I could send in an Income and Expenditure form and I said NO you have already had 2 sent from CCCS, if you cant get organised thats not my problem and how come some of the advisors I had spoken to knew of my DMP and some didnt? Of course he couldnt answer that one! Then I said I would be writing a letter to say that I did not want one more phone call from them when they were aware of what was happening. He said it wasnt their fault, it was their automated telephone system that just kept ringing me!!!!!
Just going to ignore them from now on they are infuriating me !!!
Sorry for the rant!0 -
Hi Daisypop
We had no problems at all with Marbles but had a very similar issue with HBOS, constant phonecalls, one person knew, one person didn't, wanted the stuff from us that CCCS had already sent. What we did in the end was answer the phone but said nothing, as soon as the person at the other end identified themself, we would say "This is an automated message. I am on a DMP with CCCS and my reference number is ......", then put the phone down.

Right, we've been able to check a CC online, and the other two send us updates and no-one (so far) is charging interest.
However, we're going to have to make contact with the old bank where Mr BR has an old overdrawn account (closed) and a loan. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

Great news BR, you have 'reduced' your debt by 15% just with that discovery. My advice is keep a month by month tally so you can see exactly where you are. It's very motivating.

Totally agree with Hopelessly Hopeful... I only started looking online at my DMP about 3 months ago, but I look at it at least 3/4 times a week now, especially when it goes down!LBM - 11/08
DMP - 12/08 - £37,255
DFD - [STRIKE]03[/STRIKE] 02/13 - [STRIKE]£6,454[/STRIKE] £3916 to go! (Unless my PPI & FOS claims are upheld, then it'll be earlier!)0 -

BR that is brilliant news, well done :T
Have you told CCCS that your debt is much less than originally stated? It will be a lovely boost to your DFD
Looking at our CCCS online and updating that and our own spreadsheets is a bit of an obsessionCan't wait until the 25th of every month to see those figures drop :j

Yep, we updated the website and it shouted at us cos it didn't believe the difference.
However, for some reason the DFD didn't change (still 14 years) so perhaps they already knew it or something? Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
