  • It will be fine once you have his written approval. Think positive and all will come together.

BTW peeps as I understand it the creditors have to send statements at least every 6 months (new oft guidance, used to be 12 months). I personally would write to each saying important you keep on top and you are taking responsibility but in order for this you need to see monthly statements as other customers would. I think that would be difficult for them to defend if you later had a complaint with FOS if they have not complied with your reasonable request.

    Excellent advice :T

We don't contact ours but if they stopped sending monthly statements, we would start doing that. Keeping the My Debts section on CCCS website up to date is an obsession of mine :o

Great attitude on the control :T

    Thank you!

It does seem odd doesn't it how some people get results with their creditors and others don't. It all seems very random but I am sure it isn't. I think there are a number of factors to take into consideration, how much you owe, how much you can afford to repay and how much you earn. OH and I are doing a joint DMP and we have credit cards in our own names but with the same lender, MBNA and Halifax to name but a few, but they have treated us very differently. The only reasons I can think of is because we earn different amounts and owe different amounts.

We are in a joint DMP too and the one that really confuses me is when you have 2 accounts with the same creditor and they treat each account totally differently. For example, I have a M&S preference account and a M&S CC, both are treated differently; OH has a NatWest OD and a NatWest CC, again both totally different.

I'd love to see the rule book, I bet it's really thick and makes no sense :rotfl:

This is what I have had to do, my hubby has severe MH issues and hates talking with anyone, wont answer the phone etc so I rang the companies, he confirmed who he was and now I have his explicit permission to deal with his accounts.

The only problem is the extra expense in phoning these companies, as if they havent taken enough money from us in interest they charge us for the privilege of calling them

Always try www.saynoto0870.com to search for cheaper alternatives when phoning banks...

  • My DMP with payplan is all set to go :) so far companies have been extremely reasonable have received no calls since advising am with Payplan and giving id etc..... have noticed today tho on my list of creditors it states on some of them Creditor XXXX "transferred on 16/05/2012" ... anyone know what this is transferred from whom.... up untill 30th May all payments etc were up to date no missed or underpaid so I cant see that its been sent to any DCA etc .... have emailed Payplan waiting on response ....

  • Ive received statements for my 2 x Barclaycards today - they have reduced my interest rate to 3% (I think!) and have quoted the minimum payments as the amounts agreed by CCCS. Ive had nothing to mention defaults?? None of the companies seem to want to communicate about this - they just leave us to guess exatly whats going on. Really frustrating!

Not sure if you have smart phone, but if you do there is a brill app called 08 Wizard that searches for landline alternatives.

I'm on a DMP with Payplan and recently had the pleasure of KPR (Nationwide) taking out a CCJ against a £2300 CC. Am waiting for redermination hearing.

They've written to me already to offer 50% off to settle my £500 OD with them which I ignored. Today they have written offering settlement at 25% (£125) and will mark my credit report with 'partially settled' and rest of balance written off.

I have fortunately earned some overtime this month which would allow me to afford this payment. Is it worth doing?

Where has the list of creditors come from? Payplan?

Quite agree. I have been on my DMP for nearly a year now and have only just been defaulted by MBNA. This adds another year to my credit rating being rubbish. However I am not going to get downhearted about it. The temptation to get credit again might get the better of me, so the longer I have no access to credit the better probably:rotfl:

Sorry can't help with this one. Sounds good in theory but don't know what the consequences are of having partially settled on your credit report.
