Pass mark was 35 % (!!!)
Seriously no idea what to think about that to be honest.
If the pass mark was set so low, no wonder they have thousands of applications to look through and it is taking ages.....
If this turns out to be true then they will be looking at neary two-thirds of all applications, making the online test something of a waste of time.
My suspicion is that anyone below 35% has been rejected completely, with the remainder being grouped in bands to be looked at in order, so they'll check the 80% people's competencies first, if they don't get enough for all the interviews from that they'll go down to maybe 60%, and so on.0 -
Finally got through to the help line after 15 min of it ringing etc (thank goodness my plan covers 0845 numbers) and the lady told me that the 'application on hold' means that your application is actually going through the sift now i.e. 'being marked' - her screen - when she pulled my application up - said as much. She also said that people should start hearing from the week commencing the 20th Feb if you have passed onto the next stage!!
Thanks for that information. Does that apply to all regions? Does anyone know the number for the recruitment line?0 -
Can I ask what people are doing regarding other job offers whilst waiting on a decision from DWP?
I've just been offered one of the jobs I applied for but I'm really hopefull of getting an offer for one of the EO positions, don't want to accept a job and be in it for a month or so go through training and waste the company's time and a chance of a job for someone else only to leave if I get an offer, so frustrating having to wait so long for an answer0 -

You can see the number by loggin on to review your applications, clicking on Vacancy Details and it's just below the bottom of the page. I won't post the number here as anyone who needs to call it can get the number this way.0 -

Thats pretty much how it is. Anyone below 35% was automatically rejected, however in my area at least they are only sifting those who achieved 80% +. Apparently way less than 1/2 are passing the sift ( you need to get 4+ on each competency out of 9 to pass it) so they may go back and sift lower initial scores, i dont know. The other bit of feedback ive heard is that a lot are failing as they dont know how to write a competency, which i appreciate is a skill in itself.0 -
i hear it was marked out of 6 when i spoke to recruitment line. Then the lovely woman i spoke with said. she wasnt actually sure what it was out of as there was no official passmark. people in tyne and wear should hear if theyre lucky enough to get to interview w/c 20th. the woman on the phone was absoloutley lovely and ive got to say this forums been really helpful too!! :-)0

Someone earlier in the thread said that they'd marked all the competencies for those in Manchester who'd scored over 80%.
I scored higher than that but it's still saying 'Awaiting Review'. Should it not say 'on hold' if it's been marked?
It's ridiculous how long it's all taking (even if it's not as long as last time!)0 -
Erazor, you give every indication that you are one of the more 'thinking' individuals on this forum (not to offend those who haven't participated in pejorative and childish responses to previous comments), however, to even imagine that the DWP require intellectual and competitive people to work within their organisation is profoundly unrealistic (but my guess is that you were being mischievous in making that comment!) This recruitment is exclusively designed to get the 18 to 24 year olds 'off the books', so to speak (with the odd exception in an endeavour to make things more authentic), because it is so topical and contentious a problem in our current climate and is yet another indicator of how targets and statistics are being manipulated.. Let's call it 'crowd control'!0
