Oh no, I wasn't arguing with Xena007! And I agree with you.0 -
I've applied for East of Scotland, still at review stage also. Been led to believe interviews may be w/c 20th & 27th. Not much time for notification though!
Keep checking Feedback everyday!
Hi I have also applied for the East Scotland EA role. My application states awaiting review. Im worried i mucked up the competency statements as I didn't know how to write them.
I hope they let us all know either way very soon...0 -
Lol ditto that... Sometimes when your online it's difficult to understand the vibe of the other person but nope no arguments here lol ... I missed the national security number lol0

Xena, actually, whilst I can see you've put some thought into your comment, (which hasn't included pejorative terminology - unlike some others on this forum), actually, I was incredibly popular during my school years, and my university years, as it happens but I do know where you're coming from!
I simply can't compute some of the comments on this forum and, whilst I did work for a short time as an FTA, thankfully, I now find myself in gainful employment and, in the private sector! I just don't know what to say really because I know that, due to a mercilessly inclement economic climate, there are some incredibly qualified and capable people who are being reduced to havng to apply for this sort of role, but funnily enough, part of my work now happens (by sheer serendipity) to involve researching how people will adjust their aspirations according to socio/economic circumstance. Anyhow, I do wish you all the best but, must, necessarily, keep my eye on how people are reacting to current circumstances.0 -

I have applied for the position as an external candidate and was told that the interviewers will not see your competencies prior to interviewing you and they will not have them in the interview.
This is because they ask you different types of questions not just a general 'tell me about your leading competency' and therefore what you have already wrote may not fit with the question you have been asked.0 -

What would be the point of writing competancies no one is going to look at. I can't say for sure they won't ask something different in the interview but I would expect them to look at them during the sift otherwise how can they mark them. Just take a copy of your application with you as notes and try and think up a couple of new ones just in case. As I mentioned previously in the past they haven't asked about comps until the interview and they have always asked "tell me of a time when something has gone wrong" because they want to know how you deal with that situation and also when "something has gone right" not saying this will be the case this time but worth bearing in mind.0 -
This may help those lucky enough to get through to interview

Hi I think they will obviously have to read them prior to interview in order to mark them, but it i'snt necessarily the same people sifting and doing the interview.
I am currently working as a band B and have only recently finished a FTA EO contract and for my interview for that they asked me some questions that I could not answer in full with the competencies I wrote for this exercise e.g give me an example of a time you have met a deadline.
If I get an interview I am going to prepare about 10 different examples so I am not caught out.
P.S they have finished sifting in the area I work and results will be posted next week (although I am not going to say where I work)0 -
I find it hard to believe that they are looking specifically for these age groups, infact the CS is so overly correct in all matters discrimination that it would cause a ridiculous out-cry if it were true.
I think you have misunderstood!
The recruitment is not aimed at those age groups but has been made possible due to the £4bn or so that the government has set aside to get the youth into employment.0
