Let's not feed the troll any longer - ignore their posts and they may just crawl into the cave from which they came. Ignore, ignore, ignore. This is a supportive forum for all of us and I'd hate to see it decend into a tit-for-tat scenario. Well done to those who have offers, hope for those who are on reserve lists and fingers/toes/knees crossed for those of us who have yet to hear0

Completely agree, let's continue to use the thread for what it was originally started for, support and sharing informationx

If you had any understanding of the process you would know that the numbers interviewed, positions available, and subjective nature of the interviews it's entirely possible one area could offer a position at low 30s and another not offer at 40.
Some areas interviewed 200 and others 1200. As such if- and we don't know, once surpluses have been deployed, it's possible that the number of genuine positions available in each area varies, more than explaining the gap nationally. Equally, what is considered and agreed as a '9' in one area isn't necessarily the same as another.0 -
I got this message to I filled in my references as i just replied to the provisional offer only after did i see the communcation which stated that because you are an exisiting civil servant you don't have to complete the next steps. I have emailed them also. I have been following this thread for the last couple of weeks but only just registered. When starting the position it will be interesting to meet people who have posted on here and finally put faces to names.
Congratulatons to all who have been successful.0 -
WandaFish? Is it really you?
Yes it's me. What's more I've had you going this whole time - me and you are the only people actually contributing to this thread I've just created several hundred accounts giving vastly conflicting information to confuse you! I am mackembill, I am mrsmooth, I am jess star, I am walterwall... I am Spartacus.0 -

Hello everyone,
I posted a little while back - after finding this thread post-interview (D'oh!) - and must thank all the regular contributors for all the comraderie and support shown and shared here. Whilst I haven't contributed much, I have selfishly derived so much from this forum - thank you! As an external applicant it has helped so much to know that even internal applicants were/are in the dark too.
I've only just caught up with all the recent activity - I last read at the low 240's - and I'm delighted with all the good news and/or progress made. Commiserations to all those suffering the sting of rejection or (worse?) still waiting.
I have noticed several posts about Hampshire & IOW in the last few pages - apologies for not quoting specific posts exactly but I thought I'd share my news.
I scored 8,8,8,7,7 (38/45) at interview and applied for both Hampshire & IOW and Surrey & Sussex. I was fortunate enought to receive a provisional offer for both, today!
Just a quick FYI, I received an email asking me to resubmit my locations form for S&S several weeks ago - which I duly returned ASAP. Yesterday I received a request from H&IOW to also resubmit my working locations form (what have they done with the 2 copies I've already supplied I wonder?!) - I haven't sent the form back yet, although I received my offer today.
I'm happy to answer any questions about the acceptance/infamous H&IOW offer if anyone has any - just give me a shout!
Also, to the person kicking off about working locations/multiple district - I really am not sure you are best suited to advising individuals about their future careers if you are willing to be so vocal about your snap judgements and sweeping generalisations, in the way you have documented on this forum.
I live in Cornwall, but have applied to two areas in the South East - after 2.5 years commuting to see my partner who lives and works near Brighton, while I work in Plymouth, it's time to take the plunge and move in together! We will live halfway between his current work location and whatever location the CS see fit to post me to. ANYTHING for us to live together and quit the long-distance heartache. I'm not trying to steal a "local's" job, nor am I trying to p-iss people like you off. I'm actually trying to carve a new life for myself, and applying to two areas gave me the most opportunity to do that.
Where I come from, and the way I was raised, you don't wish failure on people you don't know, and on people who's circumstances you don't fully appreciate. You MIGHT just be generous with spirit and your kind words - because karma's a bi-atch, and you'll never know when it might swing round and bite you in the !!!!

I'm glad you find it funny but here's a word of warning: I actually created the el_stepho account as well. It's going to be REALLY embarrassing when you turn up to your first day at DWP and realise you don't actually exist either.0
