And it is negotiable re better or not than on JSA - depending on one's expenses connected with being at work.
Not sure how old your cousin's son is/what kind of experience/qualifications has he got and what his circumstances are but please remember we all have different financial commitments and one can not compare to another.
Well, will see how it all turns out.

If you really are smart to the point where you can score 90% on this test, you really should be able to be smart enough to prepare and take a good shot at your interviews. The exception is nerves, some people such as myself have stage fright, but even then if you cannot express your ideas to about 3 people you really should be attending special confidence courses.
I think this is why the DWP interview stages are based on compentencies which is already something you have done, it will be basically doing them on the spot and should pretty much compete with what you wrote online.
I really am smart enough to have scored 90+%. I am also smart enough to have gained a first class degree and smart enough to prepare thoroughly for interviews. However, I do suffer horrendously from nerves or I would have a post in my chosen career (earning more than these DWP posts.) Because I haven't been able to get such a post, I've been claiming JSA on and off for the last 4 years and can't afford to attend confidence building courses (and no, the jobcentre don't have any such courses - I'm smart enough to have asked!) I've had books from the library (such as Paul McKenna) but these haven't really helped.I have checked under "View Communication" half a dozen times and I haven't received ANYTHING about this location form. I only have two emails - one link to the situation test and one "view the status of your application". I'm applying for the North West so if other people from the NW have received their form, then I'll start to worry.
Hi Alexa
The reason that the working locations form isn't showing is because it comes from an outside contractor (Workforce Recruitment).
I'm North West too and received the form on 26th Jan. I didn't get it until 27th Jan because I was ill on 26th. The deadline was given as 11am on the 27th, I logged on to my emails at 12noon. I was annoyed that I'd missed out because I was ill after putting in all that effort
I sent an email explaining that I'd been ill but this hasn't been opened yet. I also phoned the recruitment helpline who said not to worry about the deadline as Workforce Recruitment haven't been able to keep to deadlines themselves!
So I'd try not to worry about submitting it late.0 -
And does it really make any difference to how the question is answered anyway?
Well not really, I just mean as in I thought it actually said Ali was a man. Although to be honest if we're getting technical I suppose it could matter?d Ask Rita and Ali to meet with each other to talk about their past disagreement.
Rita might not feel comfortable meeting a man one to one0 -
An ex colleague has told me he has been made perm in his EO role so in this region at least they already know how many have had their FTA made permanent.
Also the date for AO roles going live is 6th Feb so I assume this is the date they aim to complete any internals so they can advertise AO positions. I'll be applying for my old job back
6th Feb is the date that the FTA EO's become permanent. Not sure what you mean by AO roles going live? If you mean advertised, this won't happen until at least the end of Feb, once the department knows how many AO's have been successful for the EO's posts.0 -
Hi all
I've had my test results back and sent the form off saying which areas I would be willing to work in, but I have had no application feedback so far. I scored in the 86th percentile for the test.
Does anyone know how long it takes for DWP to mark applications? The reason I am asking is that I work for a publicly funded service that has just been put out to tender and my employer is proposing a 9% pay cut if we win the tender. I'm desperate to get out as soon as possible and out of all the jobs I have applied for this is the one I am keenest to get!Baby Mazza due New Years Day 2013!0 -
