But then again when I went for interview even though I was told in an email and via phone from recruitment line that as a current civil servant I would not have to fill out a CRB form When I arrived at the interview I was handed one and told I had to complete it
Also had to do it: even though I took my current one as proof of ID, wage slips and P60s confirming I was a civil servant (in a more sensitive area that JCP) and still, they griped because I didn't have a valid passport
Odd. And a massive waste of time and resources.0 -
Ah thanks both.
That's strange then... I didn't have to do it. This has been such a long process. I just hope we all get on some sort of list. I hope we're still classed as internal in respect of this recruitment drive considering when we applied for it. It should be quicker to get into a post if we are successful.0 -

Have you had a CRB check for your current post? If not, these jobs were advertised as needed one so they will most likely pick up on it at some point, just an admin error probably. An SC clearance for example is not enough; a crb will be needed.0 -

I was told at my interview that because I was an internal candidate from another Civil Service department I would not need a CRB so my completed forms were not taken from me. This was the same with the other forms for pension and previous jobs etc. None were required for internal applicants.
As it happens, I have further security clearance for the role I currently have, but this was not even a consideration when they declined my CRB consent forms.0 -
As a lecturer, in and out of temporary work, I currently have 6 CRB certificates mostly dated within the last 12months but DWP still required a new one - waste of money but only if i am successful and they have to actually post the form! lol0

Hmm, I'd hazard a guess that the DWP will use an umbrella organisation to do online CRB checking as part of the pre-employment process for internal candidates, hence the lack of a need for hard copy forms for an internal candidate (this is the way mine is being done), don't be too surprised if you're offered a job that you get sent a CRB application email. Being a civil servant already doesn't excuse someone from preying on vulnerable adults alas, so they should check you (no offence)
Failing that they could either have just cocked up, or be not checking you/trusting you as internal..which would be a fairly serious duty of care issue! But you never know with cost cutting these days!0 -
Hi everyone,
Just was wondering if someone could clear up a few points for me, id be so greatfull:
I scored 5 x 6s on my interview for west of scotland and recieved an email advising im on the waiting list.
firstly: has anyone who scored high eg 8s and 9s on thier interview for any region had the same email advising them they are on a waiting list or have they had an offer of a job or have they had nothing back.
Secondly: i see people advising that job offers will be going out in a few weeks, does this mean that everyone who passed the interview stage is on the waiting list until the actual offers come out next week
Thirdly: does anyone who what chances are of getting a post if your still on the waiting list(i.e do not get a job offer in next few weeks) within the 6 months timeline;
Thanks0 -
