I have submitted an application for these latest vacancies. However, I have noticed from reading this forum that there are a few mentions about an on-line test. I have looked at the job application/job description again and there is no mention of an on-line test. Nor have I received anything from the DWP asking me to complete one. Please can someone shed any light on this. Thanks!

Are you sure you've applied for the right thing? Most of the vacancies have gone from the website now but the Welsh speaking ones are still there and I believe the information I've copied below is identical on all the advertisments.

After submission of your application you will be invited to complete an online assessment that takes up to 75 minutes to complete and example questions are available once logged in.

Please complete the online assessment at your earliest convenience as you will have up to midnight on the 29th January 2012 to submit your completed assessment. Unfortunately we will not be able to progress any applications from applicants that have not completed the test by this time.

All communications will be electronic therefore it is vital that you check your email and communication centre regularly. In addition please check your spam/junk email as your email provider may filter emails to here.
  • I still have not heard anything about my test or application submitted on Sunday. Same message there saying they are reviewing my application.

Anyone else still got this message? Applying for Black country area.

I received the email today saying that we need to send back working locations form which I have this morning - it would have been helpful if they had sent it to me in the first place for me to do that!

If it wasnt for this thread I would not have a clue what was going on!

    Hi Ladygea

There should be a link on the left side of your screen stating feedback which gives you your online test score. Im applying for black country area and got 68%.
  • Are people working out there overall score by averaging scored in both sections (Analysis & Interpretation and Action Planning)? If so, my score works out at around 71%, but I'm in the 61% percentile. Hmm..

Has anyone received the working locations form for the North West? I submitted my application and completed the test last weekend.

Tried ringing the helpline but went to engaged tone - obviously receiving a very high number of calls!

    I'll keep trying........
  • Spoke to someone at the Job Centre today. He told me that the majority of vacancies were for internal staff and they were looking to recruit some fresh faces from various walks of life so if you've not limited your competencies to past work experience, that's good news. Also, if you haven't received an email within 2 days of taking the test saying 'sorry but there are no positions for you at the moment' (or words to that effect), you're through to the sifting stage. They might take up to 2 weeks to get back to people with regards to an interview, at which point you'll be able to book it online and attend 9-5pm Monday to Friday from 24th Feb to 8th March. The jobs will begin early April for the start of the new financial year.

    Hi Ladygea 2001

I also received that message today and I hadn't received the form either can only assume there was some kind of bug in the system I'm applying for Black Country too. I've emailed the form back to them as when I pressed the submit button it didn't do anything!

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas on how long it will be until we hear back as to whether we're through to interview stage and what sort of score you need to get on the online assessment to be successful? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer :-)
  • Someone I know who got 30% on the test received an 'unsuccessfull email today'.
Looks like we will all know the results soon!

My cousins son (I'll have to start abbreviating that to CS) had an overall total of 96%, AFAIK they didn't work out their individual percentages.

You'll only know the results soon if you've not gone any further. The successful test results will take longer as they will have to read the competencies and determine who should go through to interview stage.

Your score has no bearing on your percentile. Your percentile is where you came in comparison to others. So 60% of people scored lower than you, 38% scored higher. Obviously everyone got an individual score but that score is not the same as their percentile. Look at it as a ranking system. Out of 100 people you came 39th. Does that make sense?
