  • Anybody waiting for North london? When is the result due and when will the start date be?questions?,question? Answers please.
  • I've been following this forum for quite a few weeks and appreciated all the comments and advice. Having applied for Durham and Tyne & Wear I breathed a sigh of relief to get an interview as they only sifted candidates above 80%.

Just checked and got my interview competency results which are 8,8,9,7,8 so understandably thrilled but unsure if these are just what will be based on giving job roles or will be combined with the test and sifted competency scores? Was told successful internal candidates will be given jobs 1st and would hope they're in place by end of April so no external starts until at least May. Anyone have any other information yet?

congrats!!!!! how I wish I see mine too:j:j
  • those who've scores highly well done. quick question to those with good marks for the interview. when they asked you too given a example of when you Delivered a Customer Focused Service, didyou cover all/most of the bullet points. thanks

    Hi :)

    Well done on your scores!

I asked the question at my interview about how they allocate job roles and was told that jobs are awarded purely on the merit list which is compiled from interview scores.

Didn't ask about start dates tho

    Hi greenberet

I tried to cover most of the points yes. But I'd say it's impossible to cover EVERY single tiny thing. I think if you can cover MOST of the points under each heading then you're on the right track.

Oh great & thanks hopefully i'll be nearer the top and have a better chance of any available jobs closer to home. They did say they still had no idea how many jobs there were arghhh

I had prepared a scenario which covered all of the bullet points but I was asked at end of interview another question of an example of dealing with a difficult customer so they would "get an idea of how I respond face to face" with customers. Also beware one competency question wasn't specific to the bullet points at all and I had to think on my feet and keep to the STAR method which was a task. I also referred to bullet notes i'd taken in for each competency question which may have meant i didn't flow as well as i could have but did mean i'd covered all the bullet points in the framework - they did comment on how well prepared I was but I also know from the administrators that i'd got the nicest panel out of 3 so felt very very lucky.

thanks. another qustion. when trying to cover most points, did you just expand on your comp story, or did you give another story. thanks again

Just stuck to the one example.

I kept to the one scenario that covered most bases. However, if you haven't covered something specific they pick you up on don't be afraid to say "i've done that in another scenario/task" and quickly explain. For an odd bullet on the bottom of the framework competency that hadn't been covered in the examples i'd prepared I put a prompt to another scenario to aid me.
