Just got interview for the North West. I am so relieved the wait is over.0

Thanks Lorac05 for all the detailed info. I will call the helpline at the earliest. What you have told me makes me feel so much better? I need to see my scores before my interview. That would give me some confidence afterall. Thanks to others who responded. I'll let you know how I get on.0

I just tried calling the helpline on 0845 603 2694. They are closed on weekends so have to wait until Monday to speak to them. Lorac05, I live in Wolverhampton so my home area should be Staffordshire I suppose. When I go into Staff though, it says under sift feedback, "awaiting review". My BC application refers me to my B'gham & Solihul scores. I have only been invited for interview in B'gham & Solihul area but the letter said we are aware you have applied for other areas as well & would be interviewing you only once. This whole process is so complicated. The wait for the interview is over a week but I'd be glad when it's all and over & done with.0

Good luck to everyone who is finding that they have interviews and those whohave been recently.
Vindallou: If you feel you've given it your best shot, thengood on you. You sound quite confident but as there's nothing at all you can donow, you may as well sit back and watch everyone else chew their nails.
Avacado: I'm glad someone else managed to give you a perfectlyreasonable answer from their own experiences.
All: Do take brief notes in with you, but do notread from them verbatim. Just use them as a reminder. One or two word bulletpoints are ideal.
The communications area on the website where you can view feedback etc. doesrefer to this point in the process as the first interview. That could be aback-up plan, but as has been suggested could be for job matching. It’s likelythat some of the jobs advertised will be filled by experienced staff to balancethe knowledge and their current jobs may be filled by newbies.
And finally...if you get a positive letter but told you're on a retainedlist or waiting list, valid for 6 months, be aware that this is normal and issent to everyone who is not in the first tranche of applicants. The firsttranche will get started on their training; say for two weeks and then the nextvictims (sorry, I meant successful applicants) get called in to begin theirs.\previously I waited four weeks and found myself in the third team going intotraining. It may be those who do not have to work notice will be asked inimmediately whereas as those who have to work a month may be listed untilthey're available and there's a training slot free. I speak from experience ofanother government department that uses this process. If there are sixty successfulapplicants there are likely to be 4 or 5 teams at different level of training.Obviously I may be wide of the mark but everything so far points to this beingthe case.

My interview is on Wednesday... never an easy wait and once over you wish you could do it again (unless you feel you nailed it first time round).

Wolverhampton is a BC location.
Which would explain the wait.... although not sure why you've got an interview at B&S if that is the case.
Still, the one interview rule seems to be correct, so I think you'll be OK

Good luck.
Thanks for the congrats! I got 86% and 4,5,4,5,4 for my competencies, so I wasn't holding out much hope as people on here have scored much higher than that but I am not complaining now! Just wanted to let people know that it looks like interview offers are now coming through for the NW after a long wait!0 -
