can anyone please help me? looking for info on the West Coast of Scotland jobs. Sat the test and got 87% and got the results back for the competencies but dont think i done as well. Still waiting to hear if i got an interview, anyone else had word? is it true if you got a mark under a 4 you are definatley out of the running? thanks

Unfortunately the gentleman I spoke to on the recruitment helpline last week said that a 4 was the lowest you could score and still hope to get an interview.

Hmm I think I must be out the running then. :( there is just no way they would let us know about the interview at such short notice. Oh well got another 9 applications in for various different things hopefully I will get one! Good luck to you xx

No one in this office has heard about their interviews yet all of ours still have 'situational test complete' there are lots of people here who have achieved high scores on both the test and competencies and a few people who have applied for guaranteed interview under DDA so i dont think anyone is out of the running. One of the team leaders here was on the shortlist to be on the panel and recieved an email on friday saying she wasnt required anymore as they already had sufficient members on the panel already. I dont know anybody who has been informed either way for this area yet so dont rule yourself out yet!

ps...it would not surprise me in the slightest if they sent out the invites on friday for interviews the following week...lol x

If anyone has scored below 61% in E.London, sorry to say but you have been unsuccessful, they will not be looking at your competences at all.

ok thanks. all my competencies said 'not specific enough' but i didnt see anywhere that told you to be specific when i was filling them in! maybe it was common sense but i just didnt realise you had to give a precise example. :( good luck if you get an interview!

My interview was a bit strange as they started with a question that threw me off: "Please tell us how do you think your friends would describe you". I was lost for words as I knew they were not supposed to ask me something like that.

Can you explain why they aren't supposed to ask you a question like that please? I was asked it at an interview (not DWP) & it floored me a bit as all I could think of were unsuitable answers :rotfl:

I've not applied to the DWP but have been following this thread & am amazed at the whole process - best wishes to all of you.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Yes a 4 is the minimum 'pass' score for a competency. If you applied under DDA and got at least 4's you'll get an interview, otherwise you won't.

Woohoo! Got an interview booked for the 14th of March for North Wales. Will let you know how it goes... dreading it!
    In deep...
  • Hope you get a reply soon, although I'd be surprised if they weren't already reading the forums. I know I'd be well miffed if I were in charge. Or maybe that's why I don't get put in charge, hee. :)

Reply didn't taken long - the standard 'bad news' email came through about an hour later! Ah well, bollards to them I say.

Least you got a reply. I sent them a thoughtful suggestion letter and got nowt, but then again, I expect it went straight into their deleted folder. Sorry you didn't get a better response. x
