DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

I want my competency scores more out of intrigue than anything else now. I can see me never receiving them.0

Seems like only home districts r responsible for taking interview this time and they will share the info later on. Has anyone secured two interviews for different districts? Any idea?
Not sure if anyone has already responded to this (just catching up with the thread)..but I applied for more than one district, and the interview email says no matter how many districts you have applied to, you will only have one interview in your home district.0 -
I am so grateful I found this thread, so many lovely helpful posters.
I wanted to ask about the passport photo. In the email it says you will not be interviewed without one but the documentation listing what you must bring to interview does not mention a passport photo, only some form of photo ID.
Yeah I wasnt sure what this meant, have I to bring an additional passport photograph of myself on top of my passport/driving license?
What a pollava.....haha0 -
Ok, so just been on the phone to the 'help line' and they have just said that my competencies haven't been scored at all, and nor will they be. Not feeling great about that as I really wanted the feedback on those to prep for my interview and in addition it is just down right annoying as I spent a week writing them!
So apparently there must have been a smaller number of applicants in the Southern Sussex area
as they have invited everyone for interview and have deemed it unnecessary to
sift competencies.
Has anyone else on here applied for Southern Sussex who have been invited for interview without receiving competency scores?
In light of the fact that no applicant who applied for this area will be receiving any feedback, it would be helpful if we could find out how many people have been invited for interview and how many positions there are at least! I feel like I'll be going in to this interview totally blind without any feedback!!!
I have the same as you...s.wessex, interview but no comp scores...like you said, some feedback would have been helpful for the interview.0 -
Hiya did assesment but ended up clicking randomly to try to end the test quickly, technically applied as it showed a score of 30% which was tot random
So had to apply for Bham as it wouldnt let me apply again did contact the helpline about this but they would look into this if I was succesful so none the wiser
That's weird! I would contact the helpline again - say you need some confirmation that you will definitely be considered for Worcs. You won't be the only one who had technical probs with that test.
Good luck!:)0 -

In the past you take passport type photo to interview and if you are successful it is sent to the office you are assigned to so that they can confirm you are the person that attended the interview when you start work.
Just in case you were thinking of getting someone else to do the interview for you !0 -
You will need to take a seperate passport photo with you. At least you did when I applied a few years ago x
Thanks, I was going to ask why, but the next question answered that for me....hahaIn the past you take passport type photo to interview and if you are successful it is sent to the office you are assigned to so that they can confirm you are the person that attended the interview when you start work.

Oh my goodness, how clever! Cant believe I never actually thought of this though in previous interviews I have had - darn!! haha! Thank goodness interviews dont really phase me.
However, this kind of interview is like applying for a job for NASA....:rotfl:0 -

They could save time and money by presenting their information more accessibly to candidates, so that the competencies they get back are more likely to be of the required standard. For the guaranteed interview scheme though, you only have to meet the minimum criteria.
Those of you who've done this job before, for how long has the process been the way it is? Is it an improvement? Does the DWP respond well to staff criticisms of its recruitment processes, or does it barrel on regardless? The process is really confusing and opaque.
I've been in the Department for 21 years and its always been this process internally and externally for a lesser amount of time. Internally doesn't include the online test and pass levels for getting an interview and "passing" the interview is 4 for each and every competency. The only thing that changes is the descriptors for the competencies. Its a Civil Service wide policy to use competencies for recruitment and promotion."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Do you think it would be a major problem if you couldn't find your P45/P60s?? I haven't been called for interview (yet - hopefully!) but thought it was a good time to search my building site/renovation in progress to find my P60s. I can find my P60 for 08/09 then I left that job in June but can't find my P45. I then went onto JSA and can't find the P45 for that. Nor can I find my P60 for 09/10 and 10/11 from JCP who were my next employer but I can find my P45 for when I left them in August last year!!!! Then I was S/E for 2 months and have no proof of that unless my UTR is sufficient.
Arggghhhh....what to do, what to do...
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? I've looked EVERYWHERE that I can think of and some places that I knew they woudn't be, just on the off-chance!£2012 in 2012 - £13810
