I have also applied for Black Country, Staffs and Warwickshire, I had my comps looked at by a couple of EO grade staff and they said they were very good, although i must stress im not part of the DWP im an external applicant. Im worried that i have been cheated and feel so sick!

I have also applied for those areas so we will have to see what happens. I am in work on Wednesday so see what happens between now and then and I will bring it up at work. They may have news but I haven't been in since last Friday

lol you don't have an agenda do you? Fairly obvious that you're another one who didn't do as well as they would have liked on the competency stage! Look i've said before, if you wanted to do better then the information was there and you should have followed it. I'm sure your 90% was really good on the online tests but if you can't prove in writing that you can do it then what hope have you got of proving REAL people that you can do it?

OK I was going to congratulate you on your scores but now you have posted this I am unsure what to think. If - as you say in your first post - you have been following this thread you would know that Markymark87 has posted that he scored very well on his comps. This post smacks of someone laughing at us all. I doubt you even sat the test and are probably one of the earlier trolls coming back to make trouble.

    Hello all,

Another Newbie to the mix, found this thread last night and have to say thanks to all because it has helped me get some clarity on the recruitment process.

I was wondering if there were any updates from East of England applicants, I have been sifted (8,8,7,7,7) but still no news on an interview. I have heard on the grapevine that interviews for E of E are looking to be held around the 29th but no confirmation.

Also wanted to say a well done to MarkyMark87 that is a cracking score best of luck with the next stage.

This is ridiculous! How can you say they didn't explain how they wanted them written? Isn't it obvious? Some of the ones i've seen on here are so general I refuse to believe they went through a competent manager.

Let's say you're at an interview and they ask you to demonstrate how you work well in a team. If you start saying things like "well i work really well in a team. I'm part of a team on a day to day basis and i believe in a great team ethic and team spirit" then do you really expect to get the job, or any marks?

Let's see an example of how you did it then.......

I really don't like the idea of this... but then I suppose I would say that. If they really believe their recruitment method is the best way to go then they should choose a pass mark and stick to it. If they said you need 50% to pass the online test before hand and I'd got what I got then i'd have failed. And that's fine! And if they said you need all 4's or above to pass the competency stage then they should stick to that too. If they find they've lost more people than they thought then they should interview what they do have and pick the best.

You need to look it from both perspectives..
There has been talk that the pass marks on the initial tests were lowered as not as many passed as was expected, therefore its only fair that some leeway is given also on the competencies as those also, have not met the expected criteria...

Surely you can agree with that:)

Ok well I said i'd been following it, I obviously havent read every page. Well done to him if he did well I just dont really see the point of people questioning me on 'what would you say if this happened' because it hasn't happened and it wont. Like i said before DWP have put their recruitment process in place and everyone should have know what it was about when they applied. People have done well at one stage and not complained. They do badly at the next and suddenly it's a load of rubbish and should be taken to the Head of the World.
