DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

aw i can totally see why some are frustrated with the discrepancies in sift scoring. Especially when you have followed the star method - seems in some areas thats not even good enough. Chin up all what ive heard on here because of the lack of good enough sifts even if you got a 3 on one but scored 4 and above on others they may be looking at lower scores.
I agree with the comments on good scores meaning nothing - its all about if your lucky to get an interview this is what matters, as all scores get wiped and they base the merit list on solely your interview
good luck all0 -
Well done all on the good scores coming through.
Honestly doing my head in waiting.Another day of checking the sodding site lol. Just wish I knew either way so i can put it to bed so to speak. This whole process has been badly managed. You only have to look at the stories on here with the discrepancies in sift marking of the competencies. I really have lost all faith in the process.
I currently work for DWP as an EO on a permanant contract and have had to apply externally even though i have been an EO for 3 years so proved im capable of the job but because its in a different area of working etc etc I have had to go through this stressful process because i want a new challenge in my career. Joke really.
Anyway rant over
Good luck all
You already work as a permanent EO for the DWP, but you're being made to apply for this because you want to change roles? You wernt allowed to put in for a linear transfer? I worked for the DWP and Ive never heard of this happening, there were alot of people who moved about.. From the CSM'ing to Advising and back again.. From the contact centre to team leading and pretty much every other combination... I dont understand why on earth theyd make you go through this if you're already at EO level. Although in saying that, do you work for another DWP department? Like, the Pension Service and are looking to move to JCP? Either way it sucks. :-)0 -

I applied to Manchester and West Yorkshire.
The West Yorkshire scores came through this morning without ever being 'on hold.'
I must admit it was a bit of a shock when I refreshed the page and the scores came up. I was expecting it to still say 'awaiting review' :rotfl:
Still waiting for Manchester scores though ...
Then it will start all over again with the wait for the email saying whether or not we've got to interview...:rotfl:0 -

I know how frustrating. No i work for jcp - block on transfers at the moment - HAD to apply externally even though as you say level transfer. Thats probably why im so cynical and peed off. Things are changing all the time in there. I cant quite believe it myself to be honest.
Never mind hope ive done enough to get through bit of a kick in the teeth if I havent lol
Good luck with your app0 -

Correct, its your interview that counts towards securing a position.
Someone can scrape through the sift and have an excellent interview and get the job and vice versa .0 -
Just refreshed the civil service page before I logged off the computer and I've got the Manchester scores - 5,5,6,5,5.
The comment for one of the competencies that scored 5 said it was a good example
Though I suppose mine are more consistent between areas than some others have received.
Good luck to everyone.0 -

All the best mate :-)0 -
well done pixiechick
How did you score in the online testing - nothing for me in South west just wondered if they were sifting if you had above 80 percent then going down the pile so to speak.
Well done again fingers crossed for you and your upcoming interview slot

Thank you sherrilou
I got above the 90th percentile on the sift test.
I'm not sure if I'll get an interview because my competency scores are pretty average.0 -
My sift scores are in for Kent - I have one 3 but have been told that aslong as you have a total of 20 you will gain an interview.
This is because they understand some people excell in different areas and can't be good at everything
Hope this maybe some good news for others that thought they wouldn't get an interview0
