DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

Apologies for the incorrect spelling it's predictive text that for some reason I can't amend0

Many thanks for the explanation of what they are doing and what they wanted - now if they'd only stated that at the start...
It seems as if it's all down to the competency marking and the other tests are fairly irrelevant.
The reason they are getting such poor competency results from eveyone is because they failed to explain clearly what they wanted but will the penny drop ?!!0 -
but this was before they realised the comps were so poor.
Heh, The only thing that's poor is the DWP incompetency to post relevant links and instructions on how to fill out the competencies.
I wonder if they are scratching their heads wondering why so many people have done bad, when they have missed the whole plot with the recruitment form.
I remember when I applied to the PCSO job they gave me two sheets of information how I should have filled out my competencies, it was a piece of cake when you know how, unfortunately they had put everyone on hold for 3 years due to high amount of PCSO applicants.0 -
You may as well stop complaining now Erazor because the links are there, you just have to put in a bit of effort to locate them. If you're unable to do that then maybe you're not up to doing the job either.0

Thanks for sharing your experience, I am sorry you do not feel you did well. Good luck with your other application.
It does not make sense: if the interviewers had not seen your written competencies but they were good enough to get you to interview, then why were the same examples not good enough at interview?
All I can think is that the interview is also marked on comunication. If they read the competancies beforehand it isn't giving them a chance to see how you come across when interviewing. Plus some may not have writen their own comps (not aimed at anyone just a generalisation) so what looks good on paper may be someone elses ideas. This will show at interview unless the candidate has memorised them to the nth degree.0 -

Best of luck. Should be enough as your scores are 4 and over so they are all passes so I think you have done enough yo get an interview. I'm still waiting for my sift feedback hope I hear something soon not good at this waiting thing.0 -
They are definately not marking the competencies centrally. I have feedback for both areas I have applied to using exactly the same competencies. One area has given me 6's and 7's whereas the neighbouring area has given me a 4, 3 5's and 3 6's!
One area is showing as 'On hold' and the other as 'situation test complete' so who knows what's going on there!0 -
When I rang the recruitment line yesterday they said that they were sifting by area and it should be completed this week. when I checked this moring at about 9.00 it still said under review. Checked again 30 mins later and my results were on, so keep checking. Good Luck!0

My results for B'ham & Solihull sift have appeared on my feedback screen [even though status still says 'situation test complete'].
I got 7,7,4,7,4.
Feedback comments do say that for the '4' score there is evidence in my other examples so this will be really useful if I get an interview because you are allowed to use the same example for another competence.
Fingers crossed!0
