Basically if you not using your debit card to pay then you don't get anything. So using direct debit or internet transfers associated with the debit card will not work.
So if you haven't inputted that long number along your card at some time then you are most likely doing it wrong.0 -

It depends on the credit card. Some CC web sites allow you to pay using a debit card. If you go through the internet banking of your current account it will be a bill payment(NO SAVE THE CHANGE). Go to the web site oy your credit provider and see if it does.
Maybe telephone banking for some of the cards do this??
Perhaps people can post which CC web sites/phone banking allow Debit Card payments to help other readers..??0 -

I like entering competitions, but have previously been sticking to free online ones. This means for 4p a day I can enter 8 post card comps every day as well and hopefully win a nice prize courtsey of lloyds tsb.
Good idea! it's only 4p if you're a nontaxpayer though. I make the cost of doing the same 21p for basic rate taxpayers..0 -

I keep paying for little items with cash and then stopping dead when I walk out the shop when I realise I should have used my card!
Am leaving all my cash behind from today to force myself to remember. Will probably save me money too!0 -
bobby_rae wrote:Is there a limit to 5 transactions a day (I'm just looking at the above thread). I have read the T&C's and can't see any reference to a maximum amount of transactions from one particular account e.g. egg savings.
Could you not just do 50 £1.01 transactions from egg saver all in the same day ? (plus one more for 50p to get to the maximum)
Thanks!
Personally I'm opting for 5 transactions each day £1.01, £1.02, £1.03, £1.04 and £1.05 on two cards both with MBNA, I may even keep increasing them so it doesn't appear like I've made duplicate payments. I don't know the checks banks make for fraud but if the transactions are all different I'd think it would be less likely to be flagged?!!?
If this works I'll have reached the £50 in no time.0 -
once u have registered can u then start spending or is there a delay for activation?? many thanks0

I set mine up on Thursday and have just phoned Lloyds to see if its been activated yet as I have made a couple of payments with card that have not 'saved the change'.
Have been told its activated so will use card today when getting my shopping and will see what happens.....0 -

Go through the Make a payment menu and set up your card as a new payee. It took me ages to spot it when I was trying to make a one-off payment onto my card, separate from my direct debit, and it definitely works.0
