Hence you only need a pound to open the savings account (unless anyone can tell me different).
I am already well under way making up for the 13 days of feb I missed. Does anyone know how many transactions per day till the card is blocked? I need to make 3.5 transactions per day in feb and then 1.6 in march.
Cheers,
Olly
Hi Olly,
I started this late (21/2/07) and have twice gone to Tesco garage to fill up mine and my wife's cars in £2.01 increments. On the 21st., the card was "stopped" after 17 transactions whilst filling my car, so I went into the bank yesterday and told them what happened. Today we filled up "Bodicea's Chariot" with 15 transactions - no problems.
Hope this helps

I must've cos Silverscooby had no prob either
Never mind, unblocked now and able to continue for next few days. :j
I even got the phone call last night asking a million and one questions from Fraud dept....didn't even get to speak to a human
Roll on our prizes for persistance. Thanks all :money:Andyboy :idea:0 -
I think the Lloyds system has caved in under the pressure of all of us with our little £1.01 payments......
My card has been blocked again at the first time of using today. I've called Lloyds and they say that due to an exceptionally high volume of calls, the fraud/unblocking department can only take my number and call me back, but as they are so busy, this may take several days!!!!!!!0 -

It's proving harder to fulfill the mission than I originally thought, having started it only last week. My card was frozen on Friday (I suppose I'd used it too much) and they wouldn't unfreeze it over the phone, I had to go to a machine to do it. Then, to my surprise, my Sainsbury's shopping came to EXACTLY £49. I don't think that's ever happened before. I've been paying off my credit card in £2.01 amounts but of course they don't show on the credit card statement since Friday, therefore I'm hoping the ones I did on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday all get processed later today and get in before the deadline on Wednesday. It's exhausting - Phew!0

Every time you are using a debit card for under £5 you are losing money for the retailer as well as Lloyds TSB.
Every call and sort out with the Lloyds fraud centre probably costs £5+
Although this is a bit of fun is it really worth sitting at the petrol station filling up your car 20 times?
Wouldn't it be better to take the thing in the spirit is was intended rather than trying to squeeze every last pound out of this promotion, costing retailers £1000's in the process and breaking Lloyds computer systems?
Maybe I'm just not a real money saver though!
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
