and what would that be? It couldn't possibly be that Lloyds wanted us to use their decidedly unattractive savings account could it?
And I have absolutely no qualms about costing Goldfish a cut in their profits. If they have a problem about this, they should refuse to take payments under £5.

    £5???

The examples given by LTSB on the "How Does it Work?" page has 3 examples - for spending of £1.43, £2.50 and £19.83. Seems to me they were actually trying to encourage spending on the card in these small amounts.

Notice how none of the illustrations were for items ending in 01p?

    MONEYSAVERS LOOPHOLE CONTEST

As this is a fun one, when it ends any MoneySaver who can prove they got the full £100 will be entered into a draw and the winner will get another £100 to match it.
I've also reached the over £50 mark. How do we prove it?
  • Did it 50.01p in my Looyds saving account, only registered about a week ago so it is possible. Did it mainly through paying 1.01p into my offset mortgage account.

Well since the money from LTSB is taxed at the marginal rate, looks like I won't be entered since I'll only be getting £80...
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

Every time you are using a debit card for under £5 you are losing money for the retailer as well as Lloyds TSB.

Every call and sort out with the Lloyds fraud centre probably costs £5+

Although this is a bit of fun is it really worth sitting at the petrol station filling up your car 20 times?

Wouldn't it be better to take the thing in the spirit is was intended rather than trying to squeeze every last pound out of this promotion, costing retailers £1000's in the process and breaking Lloyds computer systems?

Maybe I'm just not a real money saver though!

    R.

TBH retailers who have a problem with that should set minimum spends (most do, under £10 we charge for use of cards etc.).

I have to say though I have only spent amounts of £5.01 and above on the card. I have been paying money into egg between the bill date and payment date of the card so it reduces the money taken out of my account on the pay date. This way Egg get no more and I lose no mor money than originally budgeted.

I have also use online bookmakers who, thankfully due to Brighton's poor run of form in Jan were offering between 2/1 and 3/1 on them winning a game (even against Leyton Borient for heavens sake). Open an account using quidco (£50-60 quid there or so when it pays out so no real chance of losing anything.) use my money deposited (£10.01) on Brighton to win, use a bookies money to back the loss or draw and could not lose. won me back about another £100 in total as Brighton managed to win 3 games in a week which did not allow for the odds to catch up with this run of form. (the only bet that was not made on Brighton to win was th first one which was done on a dead cirt at low odds to just get my money back and release a free bet from the bookie so I could use 2 bookmakers to make the 3 bets.)
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • The only way we can prove we have earned maximum and should be entered in the draw is by submitting copy of bank statement for the savings account, showing the 2 lots of £50 matched funding. There is no other proof??

Despite everything being set up correctly and having received my confirmation letter from Lloyds, and added £250 to my Online Saver, this doesn't appear to be working. Made 15 Debit Card payments on Saturday into my Egg Money account, and this is all that is showing on my Lloyds account today:
26Feb07 DEB PAYMENT TO EGG PLC CD 3546 1.01

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    thanks
