so how'dya go spud, did you get round to it this weekend or not ??

No I didn't, but thanks for asking. :)

Trouble with the staff y'know. Only 3 out of four of my garden staff turned up, something about the other had to go to his wife's funeral. I'm going to have to give him a talking to on Monday, find out where his priorities lie.
Then I got one of my boatmen to row me to the end of the lake to inspect the herd of deer. It took him nearly 2 hours, it used to be an hour, he's going to have to buck up his ideas, 75 is no age these days.:)
To make it worse, on the way back I tried to sleep but he kept me awake with his huffing and puffing and complaining about the pains in his arms and chest.

    Some people are so ungrateful.:D

    Watch this space.
    Move along, nothing to see.

    @GunJack and dcm

Don't have to be up until 6.30, so decided to give it a whirl.

Ran XBoot, dragged/dropped .iso of Gparted that was around, rebooted, selected flash drive from F8 boot menu, went straight to hard drive.

Bu&&er, then I remembered and checked and found the partition wasn't set as 'boot'. Did that, rebooted, selected Kingston (flash dive) and have booted into Gparted. :T

Look out, I'm on my way.
Thanks guys for the nudging to make me have a go.

    Well I couldn't resist another go. :D

Just dragged/dropped, Lupo 520, SliTaz 3.0 and SystemRescueCd.

520 didn't boot, couldn't find Puppy files, dropped to tty prompt. SliTaz booted fine and worked as normal.

Now posting this courtesy of SystemrescueCd and Firefox 3.6, thanks again guys.

edit: I've just checked and see it was 520 GJ had probs with, so need to try a different version.

yeah, Puppy was a bit touchy to get going, which was a real pain after having it on it's own USB with no problems. 528 though is working absolutely peachy complete with wifi, ethernet and the higher-resolution graphics, but it didn't first try :)

BTW, DCM, did you get the networking going properly on 528 ???

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

Luck WTFIL?:p Got it working with ndiswrapper, can get into all of my neighbours routers, but not mine (I use channel 13 and the XP driver that works stops at Channel 11 :D). Looks like I might have to dig around for a kernel driver but then again, if at Home I got wired, and won't need the netbook/xboot combo either.

    Tonight's update. :D

    Downloaded 528.

May have missed something, but couldn't see how to remove 520 within Xboot. So just reformatted partition, clean sheet, unlike my bed.

As before dragged/dropped GParted, SystemRescueCd, SliTaz and Puppy 5.2.8.

    All work as intended. :T:beer:
Puppy did take about 20secs searching for 'Puppy files on disk' then 'looking in sub, sub folders', but eventually booted up.

I've installed Firefox, and also checked the access log on my thin client server using Ssh-gui secure telnet.

No dcm, I'm not going to learn the command line way at this time.:p

I'm flying up the rankings on Yandex or if you prefer Yandex .

Also this lot must love the site, they're always visiting,

    G'night for now.
